A Little Rolex Christmas 126711 CHNR

My buddy has been trying to wrangle his way into a 126711 since it debuted at Basel. His funds are tight so he's had a hard time rationalizing the purchase at the grey price of ~16,500 and desperately wants it new. It's his grail and knowing him, Rolex couldn't have customized a watch more suited to his tastes.
I've also eyed the watch and particularly like the CHNR in two-tone.

Cut to: Got a call for one and decided to let him have it. At MSRP, it's a no-brainer purchase for him and strike one up for the enables..

He texted what I was up to and said I was eating and sent the pic. The other is my wife trying it at the AD. She's digging on it too.

The TT CHNR is one of my favs, ever since it was released. Beautiful piece that hits all of the right "notes" for me. Very cool of you to let your buddy pick this one up. I'm sure it really made his Christmas! Would have been great if you were enjoying an A&W Root Beer too and sent him the pic. :)

Ha. Wasn't thinking enough. I can't quite make the connection to calling it a Root Beer either. Yeah, he's psyched as hell.

Then you could've given him the can of A&W and said....."Oh, my mistake, I didn't know it was the other Root Beer in the picture that you wanted!"

Yeah, it's interesting how these nicknames get started and how they actually do stick to the models they're referring to. Well, I guess that shows just how passionate Rolex owners are about the brand! That's definitely a good thing imo.

Appreciate that. Overall, my Rolex karma is up there, maybe it can help pay off more generic karmic debts from past lifetimes so I can really be in the clear.

Appreciate it. Remember first seeing the SD43 on your wrist and thinking it was one to own. It's remained in my rotation and my buddy is in l-u-v with his tt chnr. Cheers

Common theme. My girlfriend ended up wearing my CHNR more than I did.

Awesome gesture for your friend. Congrats to you both.

IMO, my wife looks great wearing her Hulk but it has the "boyfriend" appeal i.e. wearing my varsity jacket but I was surprised to see how at home this GMT looked on her wrist. Your gf knows what she's doing and I'll bet it looks great.

Thanks. I just got her a 116233 to go with her Hulk, YM I and an Air King. I was hoping to lie low for awhile.
