In need of some help!
So I recently bought a stainless steel 1601 datejust for the fair price of £1800 of a chap who was offloading a few things due to job circumstances, the watch currently has a few problems and I’m not sure how big/small they are, the watch keeps good time and runs ok to my untrained eye but when unwinding the crown it’s doesn’t click into position to change the date and when it does the quickset function doesn’t work anyway...it just keeps winding with no change to the date wheel, also when using the manual wind to power the watch it fills gritty when turning and I’m not even sure if it is doing anything at all and lastly when turning the hands anti clock wise the hands seem to collide when turning, so I know a service is defiantly due and was wondering what sort of prices I could expect??? If any one would be able to share any knowledge or insight it would be much appreciated, thanks guys

Firstly that’s a good price and definitely worth spending some money on servicing. RSC in London St James are brilliant but pricey (probably around £6-700). I’ve used a brilliant independent for much less with a 1601 I sold last year. Get in touch with Elliot. https://www.londonrolexservice.com/

I'm not certain the 1601 had a quick set date.
