Anybody else waiting to purchase a Rolex?

New or Used....im waiting for the economy to tank in 2019 and hope I can score a Coke for 7500 to 7800 bucks again i hope.....price's have got out of hand IMHO. We need for prices to drop on watches and maybe i can pick up some stocks like last time.
I bought am Explorer 1 back in Sept but all i got was 5 percent off an an authorized dealer in Houston ....Thomas Markle.....and they acted like 5 percent was a big deal.

Not me.

I’d like a 5 digit reference. But not actively looking or waiting.

And I hope watch prices don’t tank.

The deal you get on a watch will be far eclipsed by the disaster that precedes that.

No thanks. This has been brought up several times. Hoping for an economic tank to save a few grand on a watch doesn't make any sense to me.

No thanks. Not looking to buy a watch but if I was I would rather just pay the freight over losing 35% of my 401k right now. I’m diversified, but don’t want to see how it works out with another 2008.

Ha. I’m diversified too.

AND I just took a large chunk out to buy the new house.

I’m still down a small fortune from the beginning of November.

I really don’t want to see it get worse.

Im not selling my house... I own it free and clear ....im getting a reverse mortgage when i turn 62 this year.
I own no stock....just a small amount in a mutual fund....thats already lost 22 percent
Im retired so i cant be fired.
My wife left me a good deal of cash from her life ins policy.....right now im getting a whopping 3 percent.....and would love to pick up some stocks if they drop 25-50 percent and maybe some rental property also.
Im sure some people would be hurt if it does.....but it happens every boom bust cycle....some jump out of building's and some jump for joy.
It all depends on you.

IMHO prices in watches and stocks/homes are way over-valued at this time.
A major correction is needed.

Now we're talking. Siting on cash planning for stocks/RE to go on sale is one thing, wrist watches are another IMO.

One of those WTF are you thinking? Can’t afford luxury watch buy a Timex. But stop the bs of hoping/wanting economy to tank so I can score a cheap luxury watch. May be work harder and able to buy luxury watches without wishing burden on the society. Kinda piss me off with this type of loser out there.

My thoughts exactly. When the recession comes, who knows how it will effect Rolex prices. I have a feeling the OP, like many others, will have more important things to worry about than hoping to get a few dollars off on a luxury item.

I have one or two Rolex SS watches that I would like to acquire someday but I’m not willing to be on the losing end of this SS shortage and crazy premium resale shenanigans. Instead, I went to buy the PM “grail” that I’ve always wanted at a discount. I’m enjoying my dd40 for now, and I’ll gladly purchase again when the time comes. I’m on the “list” on a couple of ADs, one local and one from a small AD abroad. If they call, I’ll gladly purchase. If not, I’m not losing sleep over it.

If the prices settle down, good. But I don’t agree with waiting or hoping for an economic crash just so I could buy a watch.

Lol... hoping the world economy tanks to save 10% on a watch.

I'm not actively looking for any Rolex right now (I am looking for a vintage Seiko panda), but I am hoping the economy does not tank.

I agree. It’s terrible to want the economy to tank to save on a watch

Smh. So you’re sitting there hoping that millions of people around the world lose their jobs/homes etc. just so you can save 4-5k on a watch?

Do you realize how crazy that sounds?

It's even more crazy than that. $7500-7800 is only $1000 off if the OP goes without box and papers. Burn it all down to save $1k on one watch.

Leave him alone. Of course he did not mean that. As any of us he is a wishful thinker and hopes one day prices will change trend and he would be able to buy all of he is dreaming for today. Honestly ... don’t you dream for the same?
