Question regarding 16610 links

Hello everyone,

I looked online for the answer to the following question but wasn’t able to find any explanation so I decided to come up here and ask if somebody knew.

Apologise in advance if the answer is obvious and thus the question stupid but the itch to know is too important!

16610 with 93250 bracelet code (it might apply to some other references and/or bracelets but for me it is this one): why do some links have a « circle » on the inside whereas others don’t??

This link is used to unlock/lock the diver's extension into the clasp (by pressing on it). I am surprised you have 2 of the circled ones (usually only 1). You got it preowned? Does the second link (the right link with circle in your photo) have a j-slot on the other side? This is what "hooks" onto the clasp bar.

The ones with the circle are not the one used to lock and unlock the diver’s extension. This one is further down the bracelet (not on the photo) and doesn’t have a circle. Those two ones are normal links exactly like the other ones except they have this circle on the inside.

I didn’t get the watch preowned. Only thing I did is get new likes from AD in Dubai. I can’t tell you which links are coming from the watch purchase and which ones are coming from the purchase of the extra ones since they have been mixed since then.

The explanation is what I mentioned above. You have 1 redundant link with circle. Your AD in Dubai gave you the extra link. Simple.

So what you are saying is that the circle is just a mark to show you where to press to open the extension. Make sense in a way...I though it was going to be more technical. Bit disappointed with my question now...lol

I guess I have two because I bought new links to make it larger then...don’t really know

Do they always sell additional ones with circles on it or it is either with or without depending on what they have?

Yes, this is correct, there is only 1 circle link, and it is always next to the J-link, unless you purchased more.

Many times this link is removed as it is the first one in line, without realizing that it is marked.

There is no difference between links except for the mark.
