Aruba - taking the DD and the Seiko :-)

Heading to Aruba and the Riu Palace tomorrow morning, was going to leave my Rolexes and just take the Seiko but figured, buy 'em and wear 'em.

So the Day-Date and the Seiko coming with....

Will be "toes in the sand and a drink in my hand", to quote to the venerable Van Halen...

I have the same blue turtle that often accompanies a sub on beach vacation :-)

Great Seiko for the money.

Yes, today, I was packing them up to put in my safe with some other stuff, and I specifically remembered your posts from Aruba and thought to myself, my fellow TRF member brought his, my wife then remarked why would you buy it and not bring it, so decided for all the diving, snorkelling and frollicking we're all planning on doing - the Seiko will fit the bill, but for the fine dining and lounging times, the Day-Date.

But that thread has been circling my brain for the last couple of days...first was just going to bring the Submariner, then the Daytona, then finally settled on the Day-Date and the Seiko....hopefully will post some pics while I'm there.

I wouldn't bring the DD but as long as it is insured...

Did you see the watch robbery in London just the other day (video floating on IG)? There is just no reason to expose yourself unless you know the surroundings/environment IMO.

Aruba is one of the safest places on the planet! Nothing to worry about there. A great place to see Rolex and AP’s roaming around.

Double check your insurance one last time. If it’s a homeowners/renters add on, most of the time the item is not covered if lost or stolen on hotel or resort grounds.

Enjoy the trip. Aruba is my happy place, go every year

As long as it is insured, might as well take it and enjoy it.

We’re changing hotels for a night to stay on the island with the Flamingos.

It’s awesome here, hotel room has a huge free bar ( a drinkers paradise) will try to post a pic - not working here.

Rolex is awesome, really getting the “tool” aspect. Wore my Seiko in the pool and first time in the ocean, ten minutes later, went up to my room, put the Rolex on, been swimming all day in it...I’m just going to make sure to rinse the salt off. Other than that, it’s going to stay on the wrist.

Back to the fun...

Me and my family have spent collective years on the island. Best place on earth. Rolex on all the time. Just watch you don’t scratch it in the pool after too many drinks.
Enjoy, and beautiful DD too!

I agree, Aruba is nice. It’s amazing in fact. Whilst it’s a place I think is low crime and pretty safe, saying it’s safer than any European destination is pretty generic.
