Is This a Record Premium For Stickers?

A trusted seller here has two diamond dial platinum Daytonas for sale. Both are new, one has stickers intact. The price difference is $4,000!

Wow. I wish I had enough money to think, "Ya know, for an extra $4k I could pull those pesky little stickers off myself! What the heck!"

That seems a little excessive if both are BNIB.

To be honest though - nothing shocks me anymore in the world of Rolex.

Wow!

Stickers make a huge difference if you are sticking it in a safe for 30 years. Outside of that, it’s absurd. Unworn is unworn.

Stickers and the fact you can no longer get a Rolex with stickers unless you find a “cheating” AD.

it seems like a strategy to help sell the watch without stickers.

So if it doesn't have stickers we should assume it's not really BNIB otherwise why would stickers mean anything. Just saying there's BNIB and then there is Unworn, or not? (destickered)

Sounds like we found someone who’s ok with the $4,000 sticker premium.

The one without sticker is probably not unworn. I’ve been seeing a lot of sellers here polish used watches. Almost every one of them has a watch guy they contract out to when an used watch comes in - inspect, clean, polish.

I remember trading my Daytona in used condition to a trusted seller here - 2 weeks later it shows up as “unworn” condition with all my swirls on the PCL nicely polished out. Couldn’t polish out that lil dent on the lug side tho, but still a unbelievable job

Okay, calm down everyone. We got the solution right here. Just buy a roll of one of these and the problem is solved!

Great. So now potential buyers have to determine if they are Factory stickers or aftermarket

This was all posted in jest, but I imagine you are right -- either trying to make the un-stickered new one look like a bargain (it is now more from a TS than ADs were selling them for two years ago), or to leave a lot of wiggle room (ok, I'll sell you the much better one with STICKERS for the oh-so-low non-stickered price).

I don't understand the beef here. There are two and a buyer would get to choose which one they preferred. That seems great to me.

A seller can ask any price on any item they wish. Buyers can negotiate. This all seems basic

It was obviously said in jest, but they are priced around $10-15k below MSRP (depending on whether you want the stickers or not).
