Thoughts on this part exchange?
Good morning/afternoon/evening,
Ok so I'm not entirely sure what to do, I've got the opportunity to PX my 2017 BLNR & 2014 DateJust 116234 for a Steel Sky Dweller (White dial). I have a few qualms that bother me, yet I love the SD. So without me mentioning my thoughts first, what are yours? Do you think this is a good or bad idea? Taking into account future potential investment/availability/price. I mean I know the DateJust is pretty much disposable but as for the BLNR I'm not sure whether I should let it go! |

I'd keep the GMT, the Sky-Dweller is a much more contemporary watch, I don't think it will age as well. As for future availability, no one can predict it.

The white SD is fairly easy to come by, it’s the blue that’s a wait. Also if you are looking at value wise I would keep the BLNR. However if you really like the SD and have your heart set on the white dial, than go for it. At the end of the day you can always get a BLNR again, at a price agreed.
Botom line it’s your choice and only you can do what you feel is right for you.

Nice duo you have there! No way, I wouldn't do that deal. I love the BLNR and the DJ too much. I would love having 2 watches that can be switched off and used for different activities as well. The white dial SkyD is nice, but it really doesn't "wow" me as much as the blue dial. As shoppy had mentioned, the white dial SkyD is relatively easy to come by too compared to the blue.
You obviously still like the BLNR since you're having second thoughts. I would personally recommend that you keep your 2 watches, then save and buy a SkyD outright. Maybe sell the DJ on its own if you feel inclined. If you do trade your BLNR away, I suspect you will miss it and will be trying to find another one in the future. |

I wouldn't go two for one, and especially not for steel.

I wouldn't do it though as a white dial sky dweller is for sure the least desirable of the three. If its your favorite fine, but the 3rd most popular watch out of 3 probably does not have much future price appreciation potential.

I wouldn’t trade those two to leave SKD as a one and only. As far as investment....VERY few Rolex can be considered an investment....something you can buy and not lose much $...yes. An investment to have a return of any significance....no.

You need to look at the numbers.
White Dialed SkyD = $15.5k BLNR (11k) + DJ ($4-5k) The numbers look ok for the trade. There is no money exchange just outright trade right? |

If my wrists were big enough I would get a sky dweller (well.. get on a waiting list to get a SD). Love the looks, the calendar and it's sporty + dressy. If you can pull it off i'd say yes go for it.
