BNIB Hulk over TT DJ 41mm

Guys,

Just returned from taking my wife to our trusted Grey Market dealer here in Jakarta to purchase her TT Dj 36mm.

The sales girl then smart enough to notice that I was wearing aTT DJ 41mm. Then she said, I have just what you guys are always looking for, a BNIB Hulk. She offered the price of USD 13.9k. And to smoothen the deal, she said she would buy my TT DJ 41mm for USD 7.8k. So "just" around USD 6k out of pocket.

I don't know in your country, but here in Indonesia (or maybe in South East Asia), Hulk is extremely desirable and the value is increasing very fast. As for the TT DJ 41mm, you would be able to find it easily in official, grey dealer or 2nd hand watch dealer.

So what do you think guys? Should I pull the trigger on this one?

Regards,

Are you buying because you love it or because of the hype?

Its the worst time to buy any Rolex at the current time imho. Everything is overpriced. Its like buying into the peak of any market your gonna get burnt if you dont like it and try to flip it.

These are two very different watches, for casual and every day wear I would say get the Hulk, it's an amazing watch.
But if you wear more dressy and suits everyday I think the TT DJ41 is wonderful.

Ask yourself if you will tire of the green? I love the hulk but not sure if I’d want it as an only. I also agree with the other comment about casual vs dress. Tough decision! Maybe you could just add it? ;)

BNIB Hulk over TT DJ 41mm

Only if you like the watch for you and I would try to get it for $5,500 plus the DJ. The hulk is a wonderful watch with an amazing dial. I think is a totally unique watch in the whole Rolex lineup and I personally love mine.
Having said that this watch might not be for everyone. My Hulk would be with me for ever while other hyped up Rolex watches I own might not ( or most likely will not).

So if you can see the watch and fall in love with it buy it. If not then don’t because you are getting it for top current market value. It will probably appreciate in the future but it’s not fun to be stuck with a watch you bought at top dollar because others love it and think it’s cool.

Hulk and TT DJ41 are two completely different watches. And both are desirable. So think about it carefully.

well i don't see why you should your mind on getting what you initially planned on getting your wife because of a mere sales girl suggestion. I personally would take a hulk over the DJ. Why don't you let your wife do the picking.

No way! You are going to trade in a $12K watch for a $9K watch and give $6k on top of it? Hype is expensive.

I would prefer the DJ. Green is ok on the odd day, would not wear a Hulk regularly myself.

What color is the OP’s DJ?

That would enter into it.

I'm of the mind to just add the LV when you find the right deal.

$13.9K seems expensive here in the states side. I'm not too familiar with HULK prices in Jakarta. Keep us posted.

I would do that trade-in if I was in your position. Also, the 7.8k usd for your TT Dj seems a fair trade-in valuation especially in this part of the world so I think that sort of offsets the rather high premium on the bnib LVc...
