Shining up a gold band

Hello,

My wife has a gold datejust with shiny solid gold links in the middle.I tried to shine it up for her because it was getting a little beat up. I taped the sides and used some polish with a soft cloth. It is very shiny now but it has many very faint scrathes that you can slightly see but It bothers me . Does anyone know if this is normal or is there a better way of doing it ? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Keith

With the red rouge polishing cloth from www.watchbandrenew.com you can achieve an OEM finish IMHO even when scrutinized under harsh lighting!

That's the one!, faultless transaction, where others i've tried did achieve a superficial shiny finish, on the somewhat softer gold i was able to achieve a true factory brilliance finish IMHO with the shino cloth

I just ordered one of the Deluxe Kits from them and so far so good. I was able to get many of the fine scratches out of an Omega Speedmaster bracelet. Next up, some rings!

Hey Steve,

What did you use on the outer satin links to get that great finish? Was it the 30 or 15 micron sheets?

Great job!!!

Thanks,

Richard
