PAM164 - What do you think about this Panerai
Hi Folks
I am planning to buy a PAM164 with box and papers for $4,000, its a 2006 model with Titanium case and a steel bezel with the black and plastic straps. Is anyone aware of this model (PAM164) having a Titanium case with a Steel Bezel? Also have the option of picking up a PAM104 without the box but with papers (no extra straps) year 2003 model Its my first Panerai purchase...let me know what you esteemed gents and ladies think? Are you sure about the model number or case material? The 164’s case is steel.

that's why I am confused...it says titanium..the seller will be sending the box and papers and insists that it is a titanium case..I also have the option for the PAM104 at 4000K without the box but with papers.

Thanks Nick, are you aware of the PAM164 in a titanium case? I was initially very excited since the brushed titanium will be a nice contrast...but worried that I might be going down a rabbit hole...

Well, the color between brushed ss and ti are different, maybe the seller mistook that...even though in 164's caseback there should be "stainless steel" written
I won't go for the watch only 104,I saw watch only 104 for less than 3k euros...4k (even in usd) is too much and you'll take a hit during resale because it's not complete |

Why don’t you look at some of the new entry Panerais, they have priced them very reasonably. Edit: 774 has in-house calibre 6000 and list is 4,750.

Thank you for your response, especially on Super Bowl Sunday. I personally like something with a date on it so liked the 164, plus thought that then rushed finished would be interesting and a little different. If anyone has a recommendation for a model which one can buy in the resale market for 4K or so I will be grateful for the advice.

Are you okay with submersible? I think submersible like pam 24 is obtainable in 4-4.3k range...

For automatic Luminor, I do like the 164 more so than the 104. Otherwise I perfer my PAM to be manual wind.

The 164 has been on my short list a while. Such a unique dial. I think you should go ahead and purchase this beautiful watch.
