New 2019 Milgauss is coming it seems!

Just seen this on Instagram- surely a new Milgauss is on the way...?! Love it when these hints start coming out...Basel season begins!

Isn't that just a picture of the current Milgauss with caseback removed? I guess it could be a hint but Rolex never hints anything before Basel.

I get what you're saying OP. But my thought is more that Rolex's social media accounts have been really focusing on the Milgauss over the last several weeks. Almost all their posts have been only about the Milgauss.

Making it seem like it's really obvious they're going to make changes to the Milgauss. While we all sit around and go after each other about the BLNR being discontinued. We're just too blind to see it!

10 consecutive Milgauss related Instagram posts have got to mean something.

I suppose it's possible, but on the other hand, couldn't it just be Rolex trying to drum up demand for a model that's more readily available than others in the SS range?

Tough to say whether they are hinting at something, or if they just decided to feature the Milgauss on their social media/website in order to promote one of their AVAILABLE SS models. Looks like they did the same thing with the Exp. II in the Fall. If you keep scrolling down their IG you will see that they seem to feature one watch at a time in rotation.

...I guess only time will tell.

My guess is it's just a marketing ploy to drive demand to unloved models sitting on AD shelves. Focus was on the Ex II a couple months ago, now you can't find one to buy at an AD. Pretty soon, all those Milgauss' collecting dust will be on wrists.

The Milgauss is a cool watch with a nice DNA. I wouldn't mind seeing a 're-imagining' of this venerable piece. -Rick.

I went back and looked at last year's pre-Basel feed and there were a lot of DJ41, Sky Dweller and Cellini posts, none of which were updated at Basel this year, if I remember correctly... ZERO posts about the GMT Master after February 2017, a full year before its update. So if that's the rationale (not saying I believe it...), we will see a new DJ, SkyD, and Cellini updates this year, and a Milgaus next year...? Totally a scientific hypothesis...

I was saying basically the same exact thing in a previous thread about this.

I still stand by this having nothing to do with the lead up to Basel.

As a huge Milgauss fan and current GV owner, I really do hope a new Milgauss does actually come out. I also hope that the assorted Daytona and GMT enthusiasts can stay out of the way and not just want to get one just because it is the new thing. For me, the Milgauss is the most beautiful watch that Rolex makes.

So long as the lightening bolt second hand is relegated to history, I’m in for a new version :)

That’s quite possible too I guess, especially after Watchfinder publicly called the Milgauss “objectively the worst watch you can buy”... (which I thought was a bit harsh)

Not so...last year they teased the jubilee on a sports model. Everyone was guessing coke.

Rolex does tease something that's new for Basel, but you'd have to be clairvoyant to get the hint. At least that's my recollection.

Thats the current model with the back off.
Showing the Faraday cage and the gauss sigh etched into it

Rolex did introduce a new millgaus in basel 2016 ......it was called the Air-King and at £1500 cheaper than the regular milgauss was a relative bargain

Well.. on 10 top photographs on Rolex Instagram 8 shows Milgauss itself ( old and recent) , 1 shows CERN which is obvious relation to magnetic fields , reason of Milgauss existence and 1 shows Parachrom hairspring used on the same watch.

What nice coincidence 10 out of 10.

Just sayn..

How many times are you going to post that? The OP39 is the same case as the Explorer...so what?
