I thought this one was supposed to be for old men?!
Turns out I was totally wrong...
Took my Sub into Michael Spiers in Exeter today to get the bracelet adjusted. What is a man to do with 5 mins to kill in a shop like that... I tried this on (not my pic):  Rolex Datejust 116234 Oh... my... word... It was absolutely stunning. Always dismissed jubilee bracelets and fluted bezels but actually that whole package is stunning. Size, feel, comfort, everything. Here I was thinking my long term watch purchase aim was a 42.3mm IWC Portuguese... I think it might be a 36mm Datejust. Would compliment my Sub beautifully. Mind you by the time I can justify the purchase I will be an "old man" anyway  old or irresponsible...  Simply stunning watch though. |

Definitely a stunning watch! All of my favs in a DJ......the fluted bezel, blue dial and the Jubilee bracelet. What's not to love? Age really doesn't have any factor here imo, as there are lots of different generations that love this configuration. It's definitely a classic style, but that doesn't only limit it to the classic generation.

Some of those DJs are stunning! Young or old, everyone can rock one of those IMO.
Not normally a blue dial guy, but there really is not much more stunning than the DJ, either 36 or 41, with Blue dial, fluted bezel and Jubilee! Cheers, Carl

DJ's are and have been the staple of Rolex since their introduction.
An Oyster Perpetual Date was my first Rolex and to this day is still my favorite watch. "Old Man watch?" "Harrumph!" (I am 68, heh)

I think the wiser of the young & trendy ,are already in harmony with the older gang that worked out that the DJ was for the young & trendy ,when they were the young & trendy . In other words ,the DJ transcends age barriers as it has never been uncool to own or wear one . I bought the TT when I was young & not so trendy, & the steel now I'm older & trendy

I popped into an AD while on a ski trip recently and tried this one on. I had never really considered a white DJ before but it blew away my expectations. So comfortable. So low- key. It could easily be the perfect daily-wearer.

It is for old guys.
And you’ll want an E class to go with it. (S class a few years down the line when you get a Day Date) Just kidding. That blue dial is awesome. And a fluted bezel goes better with the Jubilee bracelet. |

Since I got my DJ41 the BLNR has been relegated to mostly collecting dust.
It was never meant to be the case, but the DJ is just so comfortable, especially on the Jubilee. There definitely seems to be a fair few people on here (like me) realising that the DJ is far from just being an old gaffers watch. |
