guys, be a little sensitive here, appreciated
Guys:
I am Chinese Canadian born in China. I love Rolex and hate fakes. I understand lots of fake Rolex are from China, as well as from Japan and Swiss. If you guys find out a fake is actually made in China, by all means, call it "Chinese made fake". However, in many posts in the Watch Out forume, many people uses the language such as "Chinatown Special", "Chinese made fake", or "junk straight from China" without knowing and having evidence that the fake is from China, it is unfair to the hardworking Chinese workers who also made your furnitures, your underware, your PC and your TVs. Chinese manufactureres made many high quality products that we use everyday. The latest Lenovo Idea Pad PC has very high quality alumina case that looks and feels far better than IBM ThinkPad. At the same time Swiss also made low quality low cost products that I saw on Chinese TV late night direct sale channels. So, be a little sensitive here, I would highly appreciate. song |

If even 10% of the fakes were from countries other than China you would have a valid complaint, but my understanding is that Chinese fake and fake are 99% synonymous. Those "Swiss Replicas" with ETA movements are from China.
Sorry. |

Share your sentiments song. I'm Chinese too.
However, if only Chinese govn't observes other people's trademark and intellectural property rights, things won't go so out of hand. Can't blame others, i'm afraid. BTW, ever read the book "The ugly Chinaman" by a Taiwanese author Bo Yang? Good read. Last edited by 2careless; 30 January 2009 at 05:24 AM.. Reason: put in the correct title and author name. |

i see your point: don't attach the chinese label unless you are certain the watch originated from china. i can respect that.

Hey songxu i can see your point and i never use terms like the ones you mentioned above but most replicas do originate from your homeland! It is not your fault mate and i can see why you feel bad though!

I think Songxu understands that many fakes come from China - but it should not blind us to the fact that incomporably more hard working and honest Chinese are not engaged in the counterfit industry. I can sympathise with his viewpoint.
Its just a question of not rubbing it in with tasteless jokes.

The terms are not meant to be directed towards the people, just where the product most likely originated. I do see your point though.

I think a lot of people are disgusted with the fakes, not with all Chinese people. Try not to take it as disrespect because it's not meant that way. In the mean time, the fact remains that China is the world's leading manufacturer of counterfeit merchandise. I do see your point and I hope you see mine as well.

The fake watches from China is an excuse for people to use racial slurs towards the Chinese. A lot of times things are said about certain fake watches that seem to be directed/indirectly towards the Chinese. I see it in here and the I feel the OP's view.

He is complaining that there are racial remarks made against the Chinese when fake watches are mentioned. Again, fake watches do not justify racism. |

It's not your fault there are so many fake articles coming from your country, so dont take it personally, every country in the world has something they'r people are not proud of.

Please I deal with people saying hatefull things to me every day. I'm jewish. People say that I try to "jew them down" when making business deals. Or that I killed Jesus. Or that we have big noses because we want all the air. Or we have horns on our head. Or we have sex through a hole in a sheet. I can go on forever. Deal with it!!!!!
