Differences between SBGC001 and SBGC201
Can anyone help me identify the differences between the Grand Seiko SBGC001 and SBGC201?
Is it just the different dial, or are there other differences? Also, is there a website where I can find a review of the SBGC201? I have found reviews of the SBGC001, but not of the newer version. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

I believe you mean SBGE and not SBGC.
I started a Thread on the Grand Seiko forum of watchuseek a year ago - when I had the option to purchase the 001 or 201 at the same price. The only noticable differences are the newer Logo and Box. I have a post later in the thread that captures the differences side by side. I chose the 001 - I liked the sportier original "SEIKO" for this model - and liked the idea of passing on that I appreciated the value of GS before the marketing change of 2017 - unfortunately required by Western culture think. Search for "More than Logo Change" in Grand Seiko Forum at Watchuseek |

'2' replaced the first '0' on all GS refs when the SEIKO got dropped frm the dial in 2017, I believe.

I do generally, too - partly because the double-branding dates back to the early/mid 1960s and the second Grand Seiko and King Seiko models (refs 43999 and 44999 respectively, see below). But I think the new style looks better on certain dials.
