Removing diver's extension link 126600

Hi

Wandering if someone could help. I have just acquired a new 126600 sea-dweller and i have been struggling to unscrew a pin from the diver's extension link. I have a 1.6mm driver that i normally use to remove pins from my Submariner links.

Which size should i use?

Thanks!

Heat it up with a hair drier, they use a different lock tight on that link. It's a little trickier to get loose. Also after heating it up turn it just a bit clockwise ( pressure ) then counter clockwise and it should pop loose.

Remove mine myself. It was locked tighter than the other screws but I managed to get it loose with a 1.6mm screwdriver.

I used steam from the kettle. Held the bracelet link in the steam for a bit til it was nice and warm, was still a bugger to get unscrewed. I read somewhere that the correct size of screw driver is a 1.7mm. I used a 1.6mm and there was definitely some sllack between edge of screw and screwdriver

I bought myself a ref 2100 screwdriver for this purpose from Amazon. It’s a better fit than anything in my screwdriver set. I gather Panerai do a screwdriver that works even better.

I also bought one a while ago and the fit has been good. I have a 7.7' wrist though. Are you removing for any particular reason? I don't have any complaints but wonder if it will become even more comfortable without it. Thanks

A lot of people report it's more comfortable without. Personally I didn't have any problems with comfort with it in-situ, but the bracelet looks nicer without the extension sticking out of the already large clasp.

For me the Diver Extension is a beautiful piece that is a integral part of a SD. Mine is on. The SD43 is a very confortable watch even more that my SubC.
