You want your 1680 bezel to click?

No, nor should it. 1680 bezels were not designed to click! They used the simple friction-based approach.

Thank-you all so much for the information. I never realised this.

Usually just needs cleaning by a person sensitive to and experienced in what it is.

Pretty easy to pop off the bezel (I use old room keys) and clean underneath. Clean it or get it cleaned and it'll turn nicely.

And yes, hard to turn is normal if it's dirty.

Thats great thanks. I assume just clean it with a soft cloth. Would you use any products?

I can remove it quite easily i’ve done that before :)

Is there a technique to actually turn it? I know modern subs just move. Do you have to apply preasure or anything like that?
