AP Warranty transfers

Has anyone purchased a pre-owned AP before that had already been registered online by the original owner? How does the warranty transfer work?

If I purchase a used AP, and register the watch under my AP account, will the reference be removed from the previous owner's account?

Thanks.

I do not know if the original ownership is removed, but I registered 3 pre-owned AP to my name with now issue. I have just received one of the from AP serviced under the 3-year warranty based on my online registration.

Good luck

I'm assuming the 3 years when registering is not renewed with a pre-owned, but it will just show you as the owner and the expiration date which is original purchased date + 5 years?

Mr. Gray,
Can you please clarify that? So is it an additional 3 years from the date you registered online? Or is it 3 years appended to the original purchase date (+ 2 years)?

This should it be.
It´s more an extension of the "normal" warranty.

It’s 3 years added to the standard 2 year warranty, all based on the original date of purchase from the AD. A new owner of a preowned AP watch that is already registered with AP can be registered by the new owner. All the new owner needs to do is enter the serial number and warranty number and the registered owner will change to the new owner with any remaining warranty.

Hey all, quick question re: warranty registration/transfer.

If I was to buy a new watch directly from AP, would my info already be on the warranty - i.e. if I was to sell it immediately, would it need to be registered as a warranty transfer?

I own several APs and am looking to buy a new one with the intent of selling it - however, the model I want is very hard to come by, and I don't want to sully my relationship with my sales rep by them finding out I had them source something for me at list price only to flip it at market value. In your opinion(s) is there any chance of this happening, or am I safe? I can't imagine the warranty department would inform the salesperson of the registration of every piece they sell, but who knows.

Thanks very much!

It’s linked to your profile. If someone buys it from you and registers it online - the warranty will transfer to them and they’ll know that you flipped it

If buying pre-owned without original warranty (just extract), can one still register a pre-owned AP in their name?

Yes, log into your profile on AudemarsPiguet.com and enter the required information to add it to your profile. Very simple and straight forward.
