Your thoughts on this 1680 Meters First Red Dial
It was advertised as MKII, but I think its a Mark III? Thicker font than MKII, open 6s, and the short “f”
sorry for the pics, that’s all I have to judge. Singer mark on the back is crisp and even and the back is clean. Does anyone know who made what 1680 Red dials? I know some were made by Beyeler and some by Singer. I’d love to hear from other Red Sub aficionados, thanks in advance for your input. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am not sure, but maybe not original.
The “S” in submariner and superlative is more round That the original is flat S And the other font look not like the genuine one |

That “f” in the depth rating looks decidedly dodgy.
Neither a mk2 or mk3 and definitely not an mk1. The top of the f seems to extend to far into the red text and is slightly rounded. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

That same F should also be straight, as opposed to curved in my opinion. The rounded “s” did not notice but because of all those other things I’m passing on the dial. Thanks everyone for your insight!

Thanks guys, I decided to PASS on that dial!
Instead I purchased a 18038 (on a strap) for a little more, from somewhere else of coarse! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
