5740/1G possible?

Is it even possible to get 5740/1G from an AD as an initial purchase? Or is it only a realistic option for repeat customers?

Possibly. But it would require things most might not be willing or able to perform.

I feel like this is one of those watches if you asked for you would really be laughed out of the store & any Salons

Not famous....I have the means to make the purchase, but so do a million others, literally. Just trying to get a gage of where the market is considering the gray market price double the retail. Thanks for the input...and suggestions ;)

I'm sure the conversation would go like this

Sir the lists are closed but I'm sure we could express your interest, whilst trying not to laugh snigger or smirk

And the security would be keeping a close eye on him in case they thought he was mental

Whilst waiting for him to walk out the doors and then yep, all of them rolling around on the floor laughing uncontrollabaly

As they are very professional

Funny I recalled when this model was annouced some in this forum speculate it will not garner the same demand like other nautilus due to the hefty pricetag and being all gold, how things have changed.

I've always thought it was a good looking Nautilus! Although recently, thanks to Stephen (Nyc2LA) I admit I start to see Mickey Mouse

Well genta did design some Disney watches

But personally I just think it looks to busy for a sports watch and they want to rip The feck out of the range

IMO

The hype is well deserved....it’s a lovely watch
I think that I was the one that made the Mickey comment but can I tell you that in real life it pops and Mickey is the furthest thing from ones mind when you look at the dial

With this now free hundred grand gift, I think any AD would want a whole lot of incentive to pick you. Being famous wouldn't be enough, you'd have to make some Hollywood introductions as well...

I wonder if any pieces are actually selling $100K above retail. I do suspect they are getting near $200K. Frankly $120K is quite an ask...but as I said, there's a million millionaires out there ready to pay gray market prices.

if a 5990 sold for 85k in one day from a TS... yes they are selling at or near ask

that also tells me the 5990 was priced too low if it sold that quick so lets just say a 50k premium on a roughly 50k watch for some rough math (as thats where its trending)...and the 5740 is way harder to get in the first place. That premium is what i would expect proportionately

walk into an AD (best a small one but not a too small one in western europe), ask to talk to the owner and offer him to buy calatravas or/and ACs for the value of 150K-200K - of course at the usual discount of, say 20% - and a 5740G at list. how many do you think will refuse? they need to sell stock watches to keep the PP contract::::))))
then sell the calatravas/ACs on chrono24 for what you paid for (careful: work involved!!!) and there is your 5740G for list price:::)))
my AD tells me they have a wait list of 120 people for nautilus/aquanaut models and 0 people for the rest of the PP collection. so go figure:::))))

But that's assuming the OP has a spare 300k to start of a relationship

yes all true, particularly the beads::)))
hold it, no mockery involved... i was just pointing out a possible (actually rather safe and tested) road map to a 5740G at list:::)))

Feck me it's an expensive path to be able to go down, and also no guarantee of selling all the calatravas

I wouldn't want to take the risk

And your lucky having an AD somewhere remote

well, selling the calas is the issue:::))) but people tell me it works with a lot of patience.
full disclosure: i did not try the route (would be too annoyed selling the calas) but i know of punters who did precisely that successfully, ending up with a 5740G:::)))

nothing to loose by asking i suppose. If its a random ad or you are not existing customer.

If i didn't value my AD relationship i would ask... totally doesn't make sense but in a way it does.

I already know what i can and can't get. That one i can't, i know it, they know it, its unspoken. If i ask and they say no, then im pissed off at them. I dont want that.

People tell me alot of things whether it is true who knows,

We all know people try to big themselves up etc, if it worked good luck, but there in lies the problem

We can all build relationships and then someone can come up and feck u up the arse with out lube etc
