Formal Policy Changes?

None of these will happen. But... would any of these ideas be good ideas? Hardware changes are always a good idea. New aesthetic iterations and complications make the brand interesting but policy changes that are transparent will temper the frustrations many enthusiasts and beginning collectors have

1) Announce a formal waitlist policy with downpayment and expected arrival time and at the same time create a legally binding 'no flip' policy for 2 years.

2) Allow online purchases. Stern says they will not do this...but should they?

3) Guarantee service completion times for given service.

Yeah I know...keep dreaming...

The experience with Patek depends a lot on where you live. In Europe, there are many Patek ADs who also sell Rolex, Lange, JLC and other good brands, and buying a selection of watches with them over time does make it possible to obtain 5711s and Daytonas.

My biggest problem is AP. As they have so few bestsellers, getting a 15202st is so difficult. I have gotten a dozen Nautili and Aquanauts in the last 3 years but am still waiting for my 15202st.

Totally agreed. It's just tough picking out other watches at AP boutiques. Surprisingly though in China 11.59 is selling super well. Was picking up the 15202 a week ago and in a 1 hour span 2 clients came in and bought three of those, one of them a tourbillion....

Pateks are actually OK in Asia and Europe especially those with ADs with Lange and Rolex as well.
