116300 versus 126300

Hey guys, I’m looking for a new Datejust 41 white dial and there are a lot of new 116300’s still out there for about $500 cheaper than a new 126300. Any good sources highlighting the differences?

The DJ2 was launched as a larger 41mm alternative to the DJ36.

Its dimensions, however, were not favoured by the masses and as a result, the production of the piece was relatively short-lived.

The DJ41 was eventually launched, also marketed as a 41mm alternative to the DJ36, however, in reality, the actual physical case size is 39.5mm.

In addition to the slightly smaller case size, the lugs were slimmed down, the overall case shaped more refined, and also the bezel made a little slimmer.

As a result, the new 41mm version is a smaller piece and it’s design stays true to the original DJ DNA that the smaller 36mm versions were made from.

Additionally, the movement was upgraded, providing a longer power reserve of up to 72 hours.

The bracelet on the new DJ41 is available in oyster, as well as the jubilee - something the DJ2 didn’t have as an option.

For all these reasons, get the new DJ41.

I agree. I think the only reason I’d go DJ2 over DJ41 was if I was dead set on a dial variant that was only offered on the DJ2. I love the blue Roman dial and sadly Rolex hasn’t made that yet on the 41.

The DJ41 can be bought with a jubilee bracelet and the DJ II not.
