Been planning to add a chrono for a long time. Love the Daytona but too rich for my blood.

Have been leaning towards the Omega (hesalite) Moonwatch for a long time, but then yesterday Tudor threw a wrench into my plans by announcing the Chrono S&G which I think looks REALLY sharp on either the leather or nato straps (no interested in the bracelet).

For the Moonwatch I would most likely get it on steel and add an after-market black alligator strap.

What say you TRF brothers and sisters? Stick with the Moonwatch or go for the shiny new guy on the block???

Speedmaster. I looked at the Tudor Chrono when it first came out, it's a quality piece but I'm just not a fan of two register chronos.
That and the Speedy is just so iconic, every collection should have one.

Wow, I knew this was a Speedmaster-friendly crowd but thought there would be a little more love for the Tudor upstart. That two-tone look is just sweet looking.

Guess the Omega falls into that "everyone should own one..." group of watches.

But the date feature, 70 hour power reserve, and automatic winding are big draws to the Tudor over the Omega. Hmmmm.....

im different i vote for the s&g but get it at a discount, if you can get it for 30% off i think it would be the one to have.

What's with Tudor and spacing of the crowns?

Anyway Rolex Daytona or nothing for me with these two. This looks like Breitling's attempt to knock off the Daytona imo at least. If you don't want to spend Daytona money, I'd rather look at JLC, IWC, or a modern movement Omega for a Chronograph.

I would definitely be looking for a discount on this particular model. While I am a Tudor fan this just seems a little pricey.

Any in particular you could recommend? Since I already own two Tudors, I am definitely interested in an Omega, but wondering if the limitations of the Moonwatch would start to bother me?

Pre-owned (or priced) Speedmaster 57 for more classic sized

Modern
Aqua Terra GMT Chronograph
One of the Ceramic Speedies

Bullhead Seamaster for something quirky

All of the above can be had at a very decent price in excellent or bnib condition. I wouldn't pay full MSRP of course though.

One major issue I see with the Tudor's snowflake hands on a chronograph, it's going to be extremely hard to read with that hour hand in the way of one of the sub dials.

The Moonwatch is iconic, a classic. A relatively common timepiece by now.

The Tudor offers freshness, beautiful gilt, self-winding, and a much more legible dial. Some think it looks awkward, but IMHO it is the kind of beauty which grows on the wearer.

So Tudor it is.
