Brand new sub with correct dimensions.

I’d posted a week or so ago about the sub 116610LN I’d bought preowned that had the bottom left lug really badly polished. When I look at the brand new one, the whole left side of the old watch had been polished down. My own fault for not noticing it, actually took a month of having the watch till id noticed it. I just couldn’t unsee it once I’d seen it, so sold it. Took a hit price wise but relieved that it was gone, got to the point I couldn’t look at it.....well move on a week to today, my brand new 116610LN just landed this morning, stickers on, which I didn’t pay extra for either, full set the lot. And stickers have been removed!....gotta say it’s not been a barrel of laughs but worked out in the end....hoooooraah

Glad you got that sorted, I saw in one of the pictures you posted that not only was the lug shaved but the whole left side of the case was wrong and it was missing that nice tapper.

Funny... I bought my first Rolex used, didn't realize that it had been polished, even if I had it wouldn't have mattered... years later I decided to sell it for the newer 6-digit and the guy that bought it from me asked to return it (I took it back) because it had been polished. At that point I could look at it and see what he meant (the brushed finish wasn't quite right) and later sold it without an issue.

We are all much happier when we are ignorant.

Anyway, OP, I'm glad that you are happy now, and that new watch looks fabulous!

Much better to take a one-time hit in price than to be frustrated each and every time you look at you watch.

Glad you got it sorted!

Congrats, I thought the bezel was protruding too much on the left side. Didn’t want to heap onto already bad news.

Congratulations and you’re correct, sometimes you just can’t unsee certain things.

I am happy for you that you have your new Submariner Date and that you are now satisfied. Late last year my eight + year old Marcello C dive watch began run slow and the folks at the watch shop had already told me a few years ago if I needed a repair they couldn't do it because they lacked parts. I began looking a replacement watch. For the first time Rolex appealed to me and I haven't looked back! However, since at the time I knew very little about time pieces I did not want to risk purchasing a "preowned/used" Rolex. I went to an AD and purchased a brand new unworn Explorer. Shortly thereafter, I ordered a Submariner....still awaiting its arrival! Hopefully, it will be soon.
