Am I crazy...?

Looking for advice from those more enlightened than me. I am seriously considering swapping out my 2018 Explorer for a pre-Ceramic no date SS sub. I just purchased the explorer in November, but I havent fallen in love with it (yet). Am I crazy? Should I give it more time with the Explorer before making such a rash decision? I already have a TT pre ceramic sub, so looking for SS to balance the (very modest) collection....

You’re not crazy, if I wasn’t superstitious I would’ve sold my hulk for a 5 digit sub.

The Submariner (No Date) is all the watch you will ever need. Iconic. Crazy, nope - go for it!

If it hasn’t grown on you in 5 months, I don’t think it will. I’d move on.

I think four months is enough time to see if you like the watch. If you don’t love it move it for something that will tickle your fancy more

Oh my, that is one sharp setup!

Love the Explorer. I'd give it a little more time. It's such an awesome piece.

Any particular thing you don't love about the Explorer?

If you like the way your current sub wears I'd go for it.

I love my explorer 1. Fits nicely with my GMTs. The simplicity of the watch and the quality makes it special. So easy to read as well.

Had Explorer for a year and never fell in love. I think as a side piece to a Sub you would enjoy it more. But if you can only have one then 100% swap out for the Sub. Much more enjoyable experience IMO.

Thanks for all the replies. Maybe I guess other option is to keep the Explorer and save for another Sub!

I didn’t care for the 39mm Explorer. If you like divers, go for it. Now if you had a 36mm, I’d say you’re crazy.

If you want balance how about something other than another Sub?

5 months is already too long. If you’re not into it now, it probably won’t get better.

I have a 14060m and the MkII 214270. If I had to give one of them up, it would be the sub, even though the sub was my first BNIB. I really like the explorer.

But if it doesn’t do anything for you, I’d move it along and go with something that does.

it's a moving target to me - once you have "the one" I think you'll know. I lucked out that I loved my first piece. If it's burning you, freaking go for it!
