Ordered a Panerai 0000 today...
I am still waiting on the 221 to come in, and after closing on a land deal this last week I called the AD in Minn. and had them send me a 0000. I like the absolute simplicity of it, especially compared to the 221. It should be here on Wed. of this coming week and I am sure I will post a few pics as the proud papa of it!
Now, what was it all of you were saying about the straps being a worse addiction than crack... |

Congrats mate!! I am a fan of most Pannies, but the BASE models are so simplistic and historically correct it is awesome!! So much so that all three of my current PAMs are BASE models, yet each is totally different. The BASE Logo will be my next addition to the family, then all my bases will be covered for sure.
Congrats and enjoy that baby with Pride and PASSION!!

Thanks for all of the replies! I know I'm a little overboard with this, but I really do like the Pannies-they make a really nice contrast to the Rolex in the collection. I'll be sure to get a pic up as soon as it comes in.

Always been a fan of Pam's,a little bit more exclusive than some brands.

Hey, welcome to the PAM club and congrats. Base models are very nice, clean and simple!
Now the strap mania will slowly creep in. |

Now that you mention straps...
I ordered a brown strap on a deployment and it will be here probably the same time that the 221 comes in. I was also wanting a good brown leather strap-something thick and industrial looking-with a regular buckle as well. I am also trying to locate something semi-waterproof as this will be my daily wear watch and a few of the companies that I own I still like to be hands on from time to time, and they do have the potential to get you wet/dirty. I noticed what looked like a rubberized comfort strap on one of the posts on a Pannie-the quote was something like "ready for the pool". It looked like a great strap-a little nicer than the rubber one that comes with the watch. Any heads up or websites that I should know about would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Dave, you may want to have a look at the Molina straps as sold by Steve Toronto in the Accessories section on www.paneristi.com . I have one of his calf straps and the quality is outstanding, as are his prices. He charges US$50 for calf, and $90 for gator and they are of OEM quality.
Also have a look for Kurt-the watch boys, heard good things about them, and of course there's DON at http://www.homestead.com/rlx/DON.html... outstanding quality, prices and service. He's a nice guy, too. I also bought a blue gator Banda off ebay that I just love. I'm sure Daren could add a few sources. |

Hey Dave
My 0 definately gets more wrist time than any other. You should definately check out gabomagic straps also in the accessory section of panersti although not waterproof they wear extremely well. |

Still waiting for the BASE. I was waiting for the mailman today and all he had were envelopes! Tomorrow hopefully...
I ordered a few straps from HK TAN yesterday-I like the vintage look of some of the recycled leather that he is using. Should be fun to mix it up with this one. It is the first non-bracelet model that I have owned since the GRUEN Soviet model I had in high school. |

Hutch, these boys have steered you the perfect way, but if you need any help or leads, shoot me a PM. I have been known to buy a strap or hundred.

STILL NO BASE LOGO!!
The dealer supppsedly sent it on Mon. of this week via certified mail. I am only one state away, so I figured that it would be here by now. I have a call into the dealer to see if they can track it down on that end... |

David, I have checked out the "waterproof" OEM straps. I prefer the rubber one that comes with the Luminor's. Unfortunately , the Bases only come with one strap. The other OEM's, are velcro based, and unless your wrist is the correct size, the straps(velcor part) never line up nice & even.
Daren has said, the OEM Rubber is an under rated strap. I agree, I use it as a regular on one of my Pams.

Actually all 44mm Luminors come with two straps including the Pam 0's. It comes with a black calf and a rubber dive strap, one buckle and 1.6mm screwdriver. 40mm and 45mm luminors and radiomirs are only supplied with one strap.
email for gabomagic sent by pm. Take care! |

Here a pic of the 113 on the black rubber strap
Just a couple pics of the gang hanging out, I think this is the first pic with all the Pannies together.

I never thought a 40mm watch would look small, but that Sub sure does.

Great pictures!
That Sub looks just like mine-I didn't realize that there was that big of a difference side by side! I have tried on a few Pannies, but didn't have the Sub with me at the time. I'll always hang onto the Sub as it has been a lifelong dream, but I can't wait to start building my Panerai collection! Two and counting.... |

Here is the SUB in the middle. Think it looks a bit smaller when it's surrounded by Pannies. BTW, the rubber strap on the 113 IS THE ONE that came with my 005 Logo.

Rubber comfort strap is the most underrated of the straps they offer.
