I accidentally dropped my Submariner while holding it and it fell hard on the hardwood floor. Ouch. It's fine, no scratches and still runs, but it went from being super accurate (+1.6 seconds/day) to something like 20+ seconds per day :-(

I'm going to take it in for adjustment.

Has anyone experienced this? Will it be readjusted or is this permanent damage?

No reason to worry. If Subs were so fragile, this forum would not exist !!

We are talking about one of the most reliable watches ever made. So, I trust that just an adjustment will be fine.

A adjustment should take care of it. You may have misaligned your mainspring, happened to me once, no worries.

I'm guessing that something happened in balance. It's quite possible that a drop to the floor caused a bit of end shake on the balance. Your watchmaker can determine this and make necessary adjustments. Before shock jewels the jewels would crack and/or the balance pivots would be bend or break, but that's probably not the case, especially if it's still running.

Man i don't know what's happening with your watch.

Take it to the watch hospital (AD) and it will be ok !

Nothing to worry about...had mine going 10-12+ seconds per day. After a complete Rolex service, it's back to 4+ seconds per week.

Ok if you guys were in my shoes would you tell the AD you dropped it or would you just act dumb? It's still under warranty.

id just go in and say its runnin way too fast...

mines about 3 seconds fast a day... not sure if im happy with that, but its acceptable.. what you have is not.. they should adjust, only thing that might suck is because of warranty they may wanna send in to RSC

The RSC is just down the street from where I live :-)

The only thing that sucks is that I doubt they'll get it back to the previous level of accuracy.

Rolexes are like children. If you drop them on their heads they DO tend to run slowly afterward.

A simple adjustment should fix all!

If it's under warranty, and the speed is clearly off, you might as well take it in.

I have an 80 year old house so almost all of the floors are hardwood. I've dropped the YM once or twice (to my horror) over the years, but it seems fine.

If you live near the RSC, that's where I would take it to. For me personally, I would tell them the truth, even if it ends up costing me some green, since they will then look at your mainspring, jewel alignment..., rather than simply regulating it.

Funny we buy a watch worth thousands and drop it and it screws up? I have watches that have hit brick walls and still run fine for alot less money this don't make seance

There is no such thing as permanent damage on a Rolex, only damage that costs more to fix than others.....
