AD Says this is aftermarket Jubilee
Went to AD the other day to trade in my wifes 97-DJ-26 for a new 28 DJ. But they would not do a trade in because watchmaker says the bracelet is after market. I bought this preowned with box and papers and the end links and clasp look good to me but can't find a way to verify if the actual bracelet is Rolex. Watchmaker said because of the way the bracelet is positioned on the end link, it's aftermarket. He showed me the way the bracelet link when held a certain way hangs down from the end link. I tried my best to replicate in the images.
Hoping to get some clarity on this cause hate to think I got duped on this sale. Thanks |

You need to unscrew a link and look for the side at the gold part the centre loop will be thicker to resist wear a prolong
Longevity on an original , you can also tell from the screw thread Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank You! Will check that now. What should the screw thread be like?

It appears to be correct, thicker at center of loop. Am I looking at this right?

I'm no expert, but that bracelet looks pretty original to me. Maybe take it to another AD or watchmaker and get a second opinion?

Looks good. Try another link with a screw maybe one link is aftermarket and he only looked at one and judged. Maybe there is only one on aftermarket link on the band and they picked that one to examine

yep that's a likely scenario as that bracelet looks legit otherwise. also could be the dealer simply didn't want to make the trade in and came up with the bracelet criticism as an excuse.

Checked a couple other links and all look the same. Now that I know the bracelet is legit I too think they just didn't want to do the trade.
Thanks again for the help. |

There isn’t a lot of trade in value for a woman’s watch unfortunately. I know as the proud owner of a few.
