93150 Loose Clasp
Hi,
I recently purchased a pre-owned 16800. The clasp has a lot of play and hangs loose somedays more than others. Is there a way to tighten it up without sending it in to be serviced. Thanks in advance! |

Could you remove a link and move the micro adjust out a few positions?

I recently just figured out the micro adjustments. Unfortunately it’s either too small or too big. The diver extension also makes it a little difficult to adjust where I need it. I’ll have to remove/add a link and then play with the adjustments. The end of the clasp doesn’t catch, 35 years of wear. Thanks for the help!

Nothing wrong with the set-up as those are the exact same holes I am using on my 14060M.
It is more likely that either the diver extension is bent or the deployant blades are bent.

Larry, wasn’t there a tutorial out there somewhere on how to bend them to re tighten the clasp? I know I’ve seen it before but don’t know if it was on TRF?

However, this issue seems to be that the deployant is bent way too much, allowing the clasp half to drop away, since it does not actually snap into the clasp shell. Or, the dive extension itself is bent inside the clasp. When the deployant blades are straighter (and properly adjusted to snap the clasp), they provide a sort of spring action that presses the back of the bracelet and tensions the clasp shell together. You can always achieve the look of this photo, but you need to pull the back of the clasp, physically, away from the bracelet; when you release it, it snaps back up.
