I got lucky
After 5 days the 116710 is spot on. Incredible accuracy. I don't know if it's a function of the improved hairspring or just serendipitous but I'm very happy.

It seems as though mine is just a little off per day if I place it on the winder, but comes very close to spot on when I wear it daily.
What are your "wear habits" of this watch? ie. take it off at night, rest it face up/down? Keep it on the winder???? |

Mine has settled in at about +1 sec/day. Seems the reports are pretty consistent on the accuracy of the GMT IIc!

I've worn it about fourteen hours per day and place it crown up at night.

Buz, the only way to be really sure is to try it on someone else's wrist. I know, I know, but send it to me and I'll bite the bullet for you.

I agree with Craig, I think the GMTIIc is a VERY accurate watch.
When I first got mine it was approx 3 sec slow per day. After a couple of months it settled down. I last set it on the 1st November 2008. I just checked and it is exactly 15 seconds slow. So that's 15 seconds over 102 days... ie. less than 0.15 seconds slow per day!!! Hey Buz, check it over a longer period, I think 5 days may be too short for an 116710 !!! let us know the results.

Mine is about 2 seconds slow, which does annoy me a little. I would rather have it fast so I can hack it back.

7th Day still spot on. I'm having a hard time believing this as the closest any others are is +1 per day on the Explorer. My 16710 is constantly at +3 seconds per day as is my DJ.

I wore it about three hours this morning and then put on the 16750 to go to an appointment. I just checked and it has lost a second (or .7 second or 1.3 seconds) as time.gov is accurate to .3 seconds. I'm wearing it the rest of the evening and will check again in the morning.
