What rolex
Hi guys,
I am 14 and in the future i want to get a rolex, and want to have an idea of what i will be getting. I like a neutral design good for my small wrist (6 inches). What do you think of the Air-King? |

That's for you to decide! There are plenty of great models out there to choose from.

Won't the submariner make me look like a hoodlum with it's enormous bezel? The air king looks good, what is the MSRP

The Air King is an excellent choice. It has an understated elegance and great history. That's a watch you can wear for years and years and always look good.

Someone needs to get down to RDV on Bloor St.!!! Look them up on rolex.com. Get a catalog from them and then decide. It'll make the waiting just slightly less bearable

See this website: http://www.alanfurman.com/noframes/rolex1.html
It has pictures of the airking and lists current prices.

I have yet to find an online source for the current catalogue. If you're near Bloor St. in DT Toronto, drop in at Royal de Versailles on 131 (I think...) Bloor St. They'll be happy to give you a current catalogue and price list to drool over

How far in your future? Taste's change, for many, with time (esp during those years.) Now no doubt all of the Rolex designs are timeless classics and some haven't changed hardly at all over the years, but my bet is that you'll call it as you see it (or, rather, feel it) when the time comes. Enjoy the journey.

Sup henry, I think you should go with a preowned Sub or a Air king.

My guess is that your tastes will change between now and 21 (or 19, 20, or whenever you take the plunge.) No matter- keep enjoying the shopping/learning because the more you are exposed to the various models the more one or two will speak to you.

I went into torenau, looking for a watch, and they totally ignored me. I'm 13, and I'm happy with my pre-owned Rolex Explorer I from a shop in Chinatown. now I'm happy and i go down every weekend to chat with the watchmaker. Torenau just lost a customer

Haha Tourneau's getting ripped today...by myself also!
I want to mention that I also have 6inch (or a little smaller) wrists...and I wear a SS/Plat Yachtmaster. I tried on Submariners too and thought these 40mm watches looked great. I think for a young guy, a bigger faced watch might be a good idea since that's the way the trends seem to be going these days...good luck to you! |
