Defective watch Seiko Save the Oceans

I purchased a Seiko Save the Oceans wrist watch less than 6 months ago, it's defective, even with a full wind it stops. I contacted the seller, his response was that it's warranted through Seiko. I am very angry that my watch has got to be sent for servicing and that I'll be inconvenienced for several weeks. The seller didn't offer to make it right or even a service watch. Even though I like this watch, I offered to pay the difference for a more expensive diver and got no response from the seller. I won't mention the seller, but needless to say, this vendor will not get anymore business from my credit card, and his site has a huge diversified line of timepieces, some of which are on my radar.
What do you folks think?

Was this an authorized Seiko dealer?
After the sellers return period is over I believe most authorized dealers will have you send them back to the manufacturer.
Also Are you winding it 30-40 full turns? And Are you wearing it 10-12 hours per day. If not it will stop after it’s been off wrist for a while...

thanks Sir
for your response, yes I have wound the watch and have worn it and then it stopped. At first I was happy about the watches operation, don't know what might have happened. I treat all my watches gingerly, while I do understand the return window period, I would've at least expected an answer to my second question.

Put yourself in the sellers shoes. He sold a watch 6 months ago and the buyer contacts him saying it isn’t working anymore. He has no idea what happened in those 6 months, but he points you in the direction of the company to do warranty work. I think that’s fair. It would have been nice if he responded to your second question, but I really don’t think your offer to buy another is fair. Why should he have to deal with the problem? Mechanical watches break all the time. Service is part of the game.

It’s annoying to deal with service issues, I know. I bought a Tudor GMT and had it for 3.5 days before having to send it in for service. It’s now been gone for over two MONTHS and they don’t know when I’ll have it back. I’m annoyed, but not at the seller.

I'm sure my Rolex/Omega ADs won't take back my watch after 6 months if it's defective.

Don’t be ridiculous, the seller shouldn’t be responsible 6 months after a sale - the watch has a warranty for a reason, all you need to do is to mail it to Seiko and they will fix it expeditiously. Sorry this is a nuisance but sh*t happens.

I understand your frustration and it is justified for the watch malfunctioning. The seller piece I understand also but not surprising. I would send the watch in and get it fixed. I own two of the Save the Ocean watches and think they are great. Stuff breaking is just part of the watch game that I accepted years ago and while I do miss my watches when they are gone for service I know they will return.

Based on your information, I wouldn't take the watch back after 6 months either.

Yep. Watches break. Get it fixed under warranty. Your expectations are not realistic. Seller has zero responsibility.

Thanks to everybody who commented on my situation, I sent the watch to Seiko and it was received by them, Folks I get it watches can get damaged and I'm lucky that the watch is still under warranty, but having that happen so soon after purchase would frustrate the most patient amongst us...right?
I am hoping to where this watch for many years when it comes back.
Thanks again for your time, commentary and prospective on this situation.

Honestly after just a few days of wearing a watch you should not expect a warranty from a seller. During those few days the watch is in your possession and under your control. During that time a buyer could have dropped it, or some how damaged it. How is this fair to a seller? You are buying a used watch, not a brand new watch.
