Which Titanium diver?

Dilemma: Tudor Pelagos Blue or Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Titanium Blue?

There's about a $600 difference, which is inconsequential to me. So that aside, which should I get and why? This is not a fishing expedition and I will base my decision on this thread. Much thanks in advance.

There’s not much in it. I prefer the look of the Seamaster.

I prefer the omega, but I'd take a black bay over both.

Pelagos; The clasp is well designed for a tool watch. Plenty of lume and wears great on the wrist even while being a little hefty/bulky.

The Omega you're considering is out of production. Are you aware of that?

Generally, I'd consider the PO the finer watch, but that generation does not have any adjustability in the clasp. Sizing is down to half links in the bracelet. When I owned a PO, I could not size the thing right to save my life - it was either too tight, or too loose. The latest-gen POs have Omega's excellent micro-adjustable clasp, but that's not the one you're considering. The Pelagos wins on that front.

Also, that PO's movement is not the full antimagnetic version, just FYI. Still, in terms of overall finishing and design, I prefer the PO.

Titanium diver? I’d instead go for a PAM 1305.

If it “had” to be one of these, I’d take the Omega I suppose.

The Pelagos helium escape valve isn't as bulbous as the SM. Date is the right size on the Tudor as well. Bracelet on Tudor is also impressive I’m a bit biased as have owned the Pelagos. Yet to try the SM (believe the one you posted is discontinued) which incidentally can be purchased online so cuts out the AD

OP has pictured the 46mm PO, which is outsized for its movement, making the date window too far inboard. I don't know if OP is actually considering that size, or the 42mm version (seeing as how the Pelagos is also 42mm), which has better dial proportionality. Tudor did a great job of sizing its movement to the BB and Pelagos in terms of date window placement.

Have you tried both on? They feel very different on the wrist. I preferred the Pelagos.

Seamaster is a considerably better looking watch, IMO.

I really liked the Pelagos fit and weight on my wrist when I tried it on. I also like the light blue dial as it reminds me of 116619 dial. But then again I really like the Pelagos LHD matte dial too with that bit of red in it. The clasp on Pelagos only gets praises from those who own it. So.....

Pelagos. It is a great watch. 70 hour power reserve. Comes with OEM strap which is nice. I think it is the perfect modern interpretation of the classic Sub. Love the blue - unapologetically blue. I had one and sold it a couple of months ago and regret it.

Good luck with your decision.

I’m biased, but I just love the PO. Owned mine for several years and has run flawlessly. Great piece!

Pelagos 100%. I looked at both as well a couple of years ago and on the wrist the Pelogos looked way better. So bought the blue version. LHD version was not released yet (otherwise I would have a hard time choosing between the blue and LHD version).

I’ve had both the PO (though in black) and the Pelagos —- still have the blue Pelagos.

Omega feels more expensive, better finishing, more dressy than the tool/sport of the Pelagos. The Tudor is unapologetically a tool watch, and a great one at that. The matte royal blue is superb, especially in contrast to the stark white hands.

Really depends on where you’re gonna wear it imo —- both are great but for me Omega = a bit more luxury and style, Tudor = surf, sun and play ——

Good luck bud —-

I don’t have either but really like them both. No clear cut winner. Would be a coin toss for me. Good luck with this enjoyable predicament:)

Micro-Adjustable clasp easily added. A whopping $90.

My son wears a blue Pelagos, its very cool, but the titanium 600 I have is a forever keeper, and its the least expensive piece I own, by far. Its a great timepiece and wears like a dream.

Good to know. I'm not sure if I'm more surprised by the reasonable price, or the fact Omega will actually sell it. Omega evidently doesn't have a control fetish and disdain for customer choice like Rolex.

Great pic.

Are they used? Isn't the PO about $8000 vs about $4000 for the Tudor?

Great pic.

Absolutely fascinating. I did re-look at my receipt. The titanium was $200, or you can get the steel, under $100. They look the same, but I went with the titanium, but I digress, Still cheap.

When I wanted the adjustable clasp, I simply called a boutique, ordered it over the phone, and voila. It all fit, there was no attempt to be so slick as to make things difficult to retrofit, and it showed up at my door in a week. 4 screws, done.

When I called, and sheepishly asked if I could buy part number #0117TIZ001151, they were like " sure, why not? How do you want to pay?"

Novel, no?
