Question for our Swiss forum members

This morning I was speaking with my brother whom lives in Switzerland. I was telling him about my new Grand Seiko Snowflake and the brand along with how impressed I am with all my research. His question to me was, why would you ever buy Japanese, when you can buy Swiss instead.

He went on to say that the Swiss would look down on another Swiss if he / she wore a Non-Swiss watch...

So my question is, what do the "Swiss" forum members think of Grand Seiko Brand and do you have a GS or more than one GS in your collection???

Tell your brother to watch this video. Explains a lot about Swiss animosity towards Grand Seiko. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=658069

The Swiss arrogance against Japanese watchmakers got them into severe trouble in the 80s, it seems that they haven‘t learned.

Having said this, I was surprised about the large amount of Japanese cars in Switzerland back then compared to other European countries and that includes parking lots for workers from Swiss watch companies.

I always think that bias toward other watch making countries and products by the Swiss is funny. A lot of cool and different products throughout the world and each individual makes the decision on what they like and what works for them. I believe that Grand Seiko is a true competitor for quality and time keeping against any of the Swiss brands. Take into account price and you have a true winner in Grand Seiko.

Quite possibly the biggest understatement I’ve ever read.
