SRP779 running fast
Hey all - I just picked up a brand new SRP779 to wear as a “beater” watch. The watch is running 30+ fast per day which seems, well, not great.
I don’t expect the watch to be super accurate, but today while wearing it out and about it is already 15 seconds fast. I set the time at 10:30am this morning. I’ve reached out to Seiko customer service already, but wanted to see if anyone has experienced this with the 4R36 movement. Thanks! |

Works for me
I never measured them, but when I look at my Seiko watches and compare them to reliable digital clocks (iPhone, TV clock), my Seiko is on the correct minute. So close enough for horseshoes for me.
You may need to wear it regularly during a break in period. Hope it lines up! |

Wear it daily for a couple of weeks and see what happens, then get it regulated if needed...you can even do it yourself if so inclined. See Youtube for instructions.

I have found that timing with most of my standard Seiko watch varies but usually does get better once I wear them for awhile. Give the watch a few weeks of consistent wrist wear and see what happens. If it is still that far off get it regulated.
