Ok, I have put pencil to paper.

This is either going to be very uplifting or very discouraging depending on whether your glass is half empty for half full.

I figure it takes me on average 45 seconds (at the very minimum) to post a post or a reply. Not including thread reading time, just the time I have fingers on keys and am typing. Remember this is 45 seconds average.

At an average of 45 seconds per post X 5000 posts this equals 225,000 seconds.

Or: 3750 minutes.

Or: 62.5 hours.

Or: 2.604 days of straight fingers to keyboard typing time, or FTKTT for those who like acronyms!

Some would say: "You poor dotard. You must get a life!!"

But alas, I take encouragement at the meager limits of my TRF addictions as this is nothing in comparison to our beloved JJ Irani! (We must be forever comparing ourselves with those we admire. It is but human nature).

With the same mathematical formula in place here are JJ's stats.

2,433,510 seconds FTKTT!

Or: 40,558.5 minutes.

Or: 675.975 hours.

Or: 28.165625 days!

Or: 4.0236607142857 weeks FTKTT!!!!!

Whoa!!!!!!!! JJ Rocks!!!!!!

I feel much better about myself somehow. I think....!

And I deserve this!!

And JJ deserves this!!!!

With a sheepskin band, of course!!

But who keeps track of this kind of stuff anyway!

May I also say that sometimes a glass is neither half empty nor half full, it's merely 4 oz. of liquid. It may not be indicative of extremes contingent on individual interpretation. Obviously, the glass has been "half full" for you and that is what counts!

OK, so assuming 8 hrs per day of sleep, and 45 hours per week of work, how many post per hours has he done since his inception to TRF?? Post per/hr? on average.

If you factor in mental capacity and brain speed that would be closer to 2.4 years.

Wrong assumptions... approx 10s to update the 3 word thread.
So, 360 posts per hour, approx 14 hours to cover 5000 posts.

So now we are talking about calculating posts per free hours average.

I will need to use fancy math here.

JJ has put in 4.0236607142857 weeks FTKTT (Fingers to Keyboard Typing Time) which equals to 675.975 hours

JJ joined May of 2005. That is 237 weeks ago. For the sake of simplicity we will take a 40 hour work week as an average and 56 hours sleep time per week for a total of 96 hours. There are 168 hours in a week. 168 - 96 = 72 free hours per week. 72 X 237 = 17064 JJ free hours since his joining. (I rounding things out here). As stated above JJ has put in 675.975 hours FTKTT. 17064 / 675.975 = 25.243 or appx 1/25th or 4% of his free time typing on TRF.

So in actuality, 1/25th of JJ's free time is not too bad, but THEN you have to calculate in things in JJ's life that would involve at least one of his hands.

Eating, driving, sheep tending, drinking, pottying, nose picking, butt scratching, hopefully bathing, and of course tossing (Google it). With these things in mind and factored into these calculations this would mean that JJ has actually put in 99.5 percent of his two handed free time posting on TRF.

Easy when you use fancy math. (Feel free to check my math here as it is late in Missouri).

With all of that said, perhaps we could get JJ some help. If we could get him to stop just one of the things in the above list that he ENJOYS most, then perhaps we could bring his averages down to a normal level.

It's late here in Missouri! Oh, I already said that.......(sigh)!

Someone check my math on the post just above this one. Inquiring minds want to know the truth about JJ's addictions! We just do!

It was very late when I did this last night!

Some things that make me happy.

I smile every time I see Richard's chuihuahua with the YM around its neck, JJ's big grill, Jocke's smiling dog, Moby's bulldog and many other avatars as well as the great threads on the TRF to you all.

Hehehehe!

In order to drive to the mountains I would have to head for the Ozarks. And it is cold and there is not a leaf on a tree.

No.... I would rather stay here on TRF and help you with your addiction!

Just kidding JJ! You know how we all feel about you and that contagious smile we all see everyday! We know that smile is because you are HERE!!!
