Spectacularly blootered my Explorer bezel

Well thanks to my local supermarket’s security barriers I gave my lovely Explorer a right good doing over with a spectacular scratch to the bezel. Am quite sure it won’t be the last, as I will wear it as it was intended. Scratches are not deep to touch, but can someone confirm if the scratches on the bezel are easily polished out by a decent jeweller?

Sorry for such a petty question to you lot.

A picture or two will really help us give you the best answer, but it should polish out fine. If I were you I'd let RSC do it during your next full service.

sure i read somewhere rsc charge £100 for a replacement bezel so i'd treat it as "sacrificial" part and replace at service time.

Would love to see a picture of this massive scratch. The OP's "Britishisms" were funny to read

So the security barrier jumped out and whacked your watch while you innocently walked into the store?

Situational awareness is going to be more helpful for you.

My answer is no - a jeweler might not return the bezel to its original finish with the same evenness it had before.

Let’s see this blootered watch.

I needed to look up the definition:

bloo·tered
/ˈblo͞odərd/

adjectiveINFORMAL•SCOTTISH
very drunk.

I've never personally blootered anything; I'm looking forward to potentially getting as such this weekend!!! (My weekend starts in four hours, fwiw.)

It isn't a proper blootering without pics!

Is blootered worse than knackered?

I can assure you that most Scots would challenge that claim. To blooter something means to hit something with force. Being blootered is something entirely different related to excessive alcohol consumption.

Either way, dealer had a look at it and said I was havering.

As I am always keen to learn, I clicked on this thread to learn what blooterd was. I remain uneducated without pictorial evidence.

My getting blootered days are almost over. I can’t handle the hangovers anymore. However, when I go for it....it’s great at the time.

Have a good one.

It is in Scotland. Lived there for 6 years, and the locals were as fond of getting “blootered” as I was of getting “utterly banjaxed” or “elegantly wasted”.

Met up with a colleague from my Edinburgh days on a recent trip to New York, and being a Falkirk lad he must have thrown blootered into the reminiscing on at least 3 occasions I recall, before the good lady had to drag me back to the hotel because I’d gotten a shade too elegantly (I wish) wasted.
