Incoming! Broken Rule

2 years searching high and low. On the “list” at numerous ADs but, no joy. After much contemplation, I don’t foresee the situation improving on the Daytona Ceramic 116500LN, so I broke my own rule and paid 8k over taxed retail. I didn’t want the white dial due to me owning the Daytona Zenith in white.

A special shout out to Isaac at Luxsly (Golda Jewelry) NY for sourcing this piece, at a very reasonable price, with clasp stickers intact, box, papers, price tag, etc.

Awesome. Honestly, if you like it it’s worth it.

I did the same and then sold for what I paid. I actually miss it and am considering sourcing one again. Great watch!

Congrats ! Perfect Watch ! Words are not enough ! Very nice ...

Btw , i bought my White Dial SS Daytona C for 21.000 USD few months ago .. And i am very happy about what i did ... We earn for ourselfs and for our family and we spend for happiness ... Better to pay some premium then wait 1 year or forced to buy some other un-wanted watches in order to get the one you want ..

Amazing watch, many congrats. You still paid less than the usual used prices so nice one.
So you didn’t win the lotto and got free money I.e. got a ceramic daytona at retail (half of what it’s actually worth). I wouldn’t feel bad at all, superb piece!

Premium is only a premium if it resale values suddenly drop to at or bellow retail. Which has never happened. So enjoy!

Nothing wrong with paying market value for what you want.. Big congrats to you OP! To me, time and enjoyment are much more important so if you can swing it, why not? Enjoy!

I weighed all pros/cons, studied the options and, decided that I personally feel that the Daytona C will probably cost even more the longer I wait. Only time will tell but, alas, I bit the bullet.

I get it, Noonan, I wouldn’t ever usually pay over retail and, in fact, I never have. In this instance, despite really trying hard for 24 months, it became clear that the alternative is not owning this watch for between 5-10 years from now (if ever).

What rules are you referring to? Paying premium?

I hope your rule applies when you sell your watch in the future, you can't sell it over MSRP.

I find it hilarious when people complain about others paying premium, but it's okay for them to sell it over MSRP.

So beautiful in the opening...Wow! You have a nice collection.

I'm sure you can re-sell it for more or at the same price you paid for it 10 years from now. Rolex will discontinue the black/white in the near future..and change it up with a different variations.
