All the recent talk about the GMT-IIc bracelet and how it gets scratched up has made me wonder, since I plan on buying one in the coming months.

Please post photos of your GMT-IIc bracelet to show us how good/bad it looks when it's scratched up... OR ...show us how it didn't get all THAT scratched up regardless of how long you've worn it.

Apart from that, I have a few questions for the experts:

- Can a GMT-IIc bracelet be bought separately (in case I want to buy a bracelet and brush it, and keep the original one in the box), and how much would it cost?

- Would a DSSD clasp fit on a GMT-IIc bracelet? If yes, can that be bought separately? How much would it cost?

Scroll down this link and see one that has been brushed, I personally think it looks like a tool watch again. I really dislike the thought of PCL's on any sport watches, to me, PCL's turn them into dress watches. There is also a link in one of the replies that shows another guy who brushed his. For the most part, I find that I am a purist and frown on changing a watch, but I sure do wish they came with brushed bracelets so I could buy one if I wanted.

Interesting how one guy had a US RSC do it, I didn't think they would agree to do such things.

I wanna see polished links that have been scratched though, just to see how noticeable it really is.

I'd show you mine but I just brushed them! Trust me, they're not nearly as bad as you are lead to believe. You don't see huge scratches at all. What happens is that they lose their brilliant shine and don't contrast with the brushed links. That's about it.

Had my GMT IIC for 16 months now. It is and has been perfect. Of course you will get some minor scratches on the band. I take it off when I do plumbing or other stuff where you could seriously scratch it. You have to get over having some scratches. Life is short. Enjoy what you have.

I wear mine daily and forget it is there. The bottom of the clasp looks heavily worn, but everywhere else looks like new from more than 6" away - up close you see some faint lines, but no one else would ever notice - except for the clasp (which can be buffed).

It is all hype! I love mine and would pick the PCL's over a brushed option anyday - for this watch.

I am very careful with my bracelets on all my watches. I never set them down directly on a table or desk. I always used a wrist guard even if it is as simple as a napkin folded up. I have one scratch on the buckle from carrying a metal box. It isn't bad.

I bought my wife a men's Rhodium dial new Datejust 11600 witht he same bracelet as the GMT C just smaller. She wears it daily. I told her not to worry about it and just wear it and enjoy. She is a nurse for a prominent cardiologist and wears the Datejust daily. I looked at it this weekend after nearly two months. The clasp is heavily scratched, but the rest of the bracelet isn't that bad. I will try to remember to take some pics, because it would be an accurate representation of a daily worn GMT IIC as a beater.

Yes, I am not sure I would live long enough to enjoy them. I would definitely need the GMT then as I would most likely have to run to at least 1 more time zone away
