Seatbelt got me good man.

First few dings on the lug edge of the brand new explorer II! Guess I can fully wear it without worry now!

Who else has some nice dings?

incidental dings are always part of ownership. You have the perfect outlook.

That sucks. I also have a ding on my GMT. Wear it and enjoy!!!

Wondering if someone is going to ask if there’s a way to wrap the metal part of the seatbelt after seeing this thread...

It's going to happen and it does. I'm always worried about putting my hand in the mailbox to get the mail. Maybe I should line the inside with something soft?

This means you own the watch rather than the watch owning you.

That "PING!" as the buckle smacks the case is stomach-turning.

Which part (and how) of the seatbelt is causing these dings?

I smacked my watch on a sink in NYC in a hotel years ago. I have a very similar battle wound. Stuff happens... Enjoy your watch!

The steel part as it retracts back grazed the watch. Pretty common.

Seatbelt got me good man.

I dropped my iPhone onto my watch and the charging port caught it and did a similar thing!

Couldn’t do it again if I tried!

That’s a nice one. Not too bad. I’ve gotten a few good scratches in the car too. Reaching under seats to look for things and reaching between the seat and door to adjust the drivers seat. Mailbox, mentioned above, is also one I’ve done.

23 years ago a thrown stone hit my Sub's lugs (instead of me), leaving a scar. I always refused to get any polishing on it. It has to live with its scar.

Before the first ding, it's just a Rolex. After, it's YOUR Rolex.

Well I doubt this is common because I have never experienced this and I can't think of a situation when it will happen (because I always guide the steel part of the seatbelt).

For us who wear the watch on the right wrist, no worries about the seatbelt buckle whacking your watch. At least in countries where the steering wheel is on the left side of vehicle.

I noticed the six digit case edges are significantly sharper. My BLNR has a couple of minor case edge nicks too.

Happened to me TWICE the first month I had my Sub - and I have the battle scars to remind me to be more careful!
