hey, I was just looking at that seller yesterday because he was selling a nice OEM strap...unfortunately it was also ridiculously overpriced. I see a pattern!

And why exactly is this so insane?

Have you tried to buy an original diamond MOP dial from Rolex?

I think he might be a couple of hundred bucks off but not enough to call him a crackpot...

i think the point is you can get a pre-owned diamond MOP datejust for cheaper than what he is asking for just the dial.

And your point is?

I fully understand that a used watch is cheaper than a new.

That's why a new watch from an AD costs more than a used one from e-bay...

so get a used MOP datejust then take out the dial (which is practically new since it has no contact with anything outside of the watch) then sell the rest of the parts all for cheaper than just buying a MOP dial

I have a feeling YOU are missing the point here...:)

This guy is selling a BRAND NEW original Rolex dial at a fair market price, (almost) and you're talking about swapping out used parts?

the point of this thread is to show how overpriced the MOP dial is. why would anyone pay $3,750 when you can get the same thing for 800-900 ish?

I give up......

Why would anyone buy a NEW DD for $27.550 when you can have a USED one for $6.000......

PS. Why are you including a link to a guy that sells AFTERMARKET dials that has no bearing to what we are talking about?

To me the question is if it is a NEW dial, where'd he get it?

I mean, I fully agree that it's overpriced. The argument that it is a NEW dial doesn't go very far. A new Rolex dial vs. a used Rolex dial should mean very little in this circumstance. Why? Because the Rolex you put the dial in is going to be unoriginal no matter how you slice it. Parts is parts.

It seems to me, though, that this could herald a new wave of opportunistic sellers who are trying to unload their remaining stocks of Rolex parts now that Rolex has changed its policies and refuses to sell parts. I know a Rolex-certified watchmaker who tells me he simply cannot order parts from Rolex anymore, and he has been using up his dwindling supplies.

InterWatches is known for dreaming on ebay.......

Recently they were selling a DRSD for something like 120k as well as other laughable watches.....

They are good for a laugh if you are ever in a bad mood.... works for me.

Must say I agree with Idle Swede on this.

However, what exactly is the point of the original post? Why is the ebay listing insane? Even if it was, what's it to the original poster? Or indeed any of us? So many people react so strongly to things which just don't directly concern us.

These guys can be weirdly high on some items. See the prices on some of their GMTs, but I am wearing a tudor ranger right now that I bought from them at a reasonable price.

I think you were right and that it was once listed at $120k or $140K......they got no taker.....so they figured $180K was a better price point!!!
