The James Bond watches: Opinions?

Guys, I'm quite interested to know thoughts on the 007 watches. As a lifelong fan, I think they're quite cool. I wasn't sure if the watches are too gimmicky or seen as over priced for logo, seconds hand, embossed caseback, etc. I'm particularly drawn to the Casino Royale. I know at the end of the day, I will certainly choose to buy/wear what makes me happy, but was very curious about collective opinions on the various Bond movie watches.

I mean I am a bond fan, but can’t see paying the premium for the bond markings as in some cases that premium can be used to fund another watch! I tend not to see them as gimmicky and see them as something watch folks may want. I can’t speak for everyone but I think most see some as less gimmicky and even sought after (I.e. specter seamaster) and others as more so (seamaster s commander watch)

I like the look of them but have not yet been willing to pay a premium for one. But the day Omega offers a Bond watch with a very powerful laser built in... I'll buy it!

Always felt great gimmicky to me. I don't need "007" written on it. It's for that reason I haven't purchased one of those models.

Zero interest in either paid shill advertisers or text printed on dials for promotional purposes

Buy the watch for the movement and for the performance, not for who pretends to wear it in a fictional film

If you like the Casino Royale watch then buy the actual standard model he wears in the movie. Not the Ltd edition with tacky 007 hands lol.

I've never liked any of them that has blatant branding of 007 related on the dial/crystal.....but the Spectre really sang to me with the lollipop second hand and the Aqua Terra Skyfall looked really good in my eyes as well. Happen to grow up with my Dad being a 007 fanatic so Bond has always had a place in my heart sharing all those movies with my father.....so as long as they make good looking watches without tacky outlandish branding in my eyes....I would probably continue to buy and cherish the watches.

I have the Skyfall, newly acquired, prefer to have a good looking watch worn in a film than a watch that is branded for a film.

I have never bought any of the 007 branded, or the like, products for the same reason as stated above.

However, I do own, and am wearing as I type this, the Spectre model. It is different from the regular 300 Master Co-Axial, and that is why I like it.

I love the lollipop hand, the bezel, and the brushed steel bracelet (although not a fan of the 007 branding on the clasp, and will likely replace it with a standard clasp).

It, to me, was perfect from a design standpoint, and enough for me to pay the difference.

I’ve just got the commander watch purely because of the white dial. Lovely watch, actually had two people ask about it today.

So a contact at one of the OB’s told me about an upcoming bond watch, has anyone else heard about one?

Here’s a great compilation of every Bond watch. The last Rolex seems to be the 16610 in 1987’s The Living Daylights

It got me into Omega. I bought the very first Seamaster that was in a Bond movie (I actually forget which one but it was where he used it as a red laser). It doesn’t say Bond or anything I just thought it was cool. Still have it but never wear it. The date is always between two dates and I sent it back years ago to get fixed but it started doing it again so now it sits. Plus I would need to buy a link and source that for my older fatter wrist ;-)

I don’t own that watch, but have been thinking about it.
I liked the style and the 12 hour bezel. I don’t know why they don’t include that as an option in their regular
Line.

I’m also smitten with the No Time to Die Seamaster.

It isn’t “labeled” in the same way. I don’t mind the 007 on the case back.
But the dial looks great. I only wished they would have killed the escape valve ....

This one is far and away my favorite Bond watch, and probably the only one I would consider purchasing. Beautiful watch and the rifling on the dial is fantastic
