Tiffany Stamp Or NOT to Tiffany Stamp

I bought a "Tiffany Stamp" Rolex Day Date (1984 - birth year) in August 2018.

Decent price of $8,300 on a strap (not bracelet) - no papers.

I understand that you can neither confirm nor deny a Tiffany Stamp Rolex (unless it's 100% obviously wrong OR you have the papers).

So my question is...

Do I enjoy the watch not knowing if am I sitting on a real or fake Tiffany Stamp?

And, is there anyone out there in the real world you know that would look at it to try and confirm (Rolex NYC or other professionals?)

I will post a pic soon, I would like your opinions simply on the situation before seeing the actual watch.

Thank you!

As you say, there is no verifiable record of watches sold by Tiffany during the years that they carried them. Tiffany applied the stamps without regard to make or model as part of their marketing plan; Rolex has no record of this modification.

Enjoy it, you can't do anything about it.

Tiffany Stamp Or NOT to Tiffany Stamp

Here is mine. Passed down from my father. He bought it in 1989.

Without documentation, invoice, papers it's to be considered a fake stamp.

I too have a Tiffany branded watch I got from my dad who bought it new. Did he save the box and papers? No. Along with most people they went into the trash or were lost after multiple moves and what not. I personally think it was the quite messy divorce. So no way to prove the watch has always had the dial unless I can find a picture of him wearing it in the 70s or 80s and get close enough to see the extra branding. All pics are at my Dads house and I have not looked, yet. Keep forgetting every time I go over there. On RSC, I did contact them, and as Tools said no records. Although, you would think they could say that a specific serial number was sold to a specific store, I mean they have records of what the watch was originally fitted out with, right? Also contacted Tiffany in BH for confirmation of sale but unsurprisingly they don't keep records that far back. the watch has been serviced by RSC in the past (1989 & 1995) but there is no mention of the dial branding other than it being a brown dial. As others have pointed out you can get a premium for the Tiffany and Co. branding even without papers, but with papers it would be significantly more valuable. Here is a shot of mine.

Oh, it’s a fake Tiffany stamp. No need to have it “appraised” or even bother posting pics. Every single dealer or potential buyer will naturally and correctly assume so without pristine full set down to the boxes and inserts. I’m sure you understood this given the price you paid.

Cartier and Tiffany both carried Rolex and were certainly equals in sales. Cartier kept track of their watches and Tiffany did not. How many Cartier branded Rolex have you seen in the last year? The last 5 years? Fake Cartier can be exposed, fake Tiffany are just a giant joke designed to separate cash from unsuspecting nubes. Unless there is ironclad documentation a watch is from Tiffany you must assume it's a fake.

I was going to say I'd never own an undocumented Tiffany dial then I decided I'll have it put on my Mickey Mouse project 1601, appropriate?

unless of course I get a nasty letter from Tiffany. :)

I like your attitude!

...and thank you for your response.

No one in the world can say it's real or fake.

I did a lot of research on how some dials were done by Rolex, some by Tiffany and some Tiffany sub contracted out.

Since I can not confirm it's real and since I can not confirm it's not... it therefore just is...

A 1984 Tiffany Stamped Rolex Day Date.

I APPRECIATE EVERYONE'S RESPONSES!!!

Can I add that there are a few pointers in the fonts and spacing, but these are nothing more than that. It’s probably easier to tell an outright fake dial.
