Buying a watch in the EU, and bringing back into the UK
Apologies if this has been asked before. If a Rolex, or any other brand watch for that matter is purchased in the EU, and brought back into the UK, are any further taxes/duty due, in addition to the purchase price? Thanks in advance.

Isn't the UK still part of the EU? If so, I would think that there won't be any additional duties owed.

As long as it’s EU Europe, no further tax to pay on bringing it back to UK.

Ok thanks all. Might not have to worry anyway, as most of Europe is probably Rolex SS Sports dry, I assume.

So long as you buy your new watch in a country that is part of the EU you won't have any problems bring it back here.
No taxes or VAT to pay in the UK either.

The previous replies are correct.
I will add one qualifier to them. You must have paid vat in the EU country to have no vat due in the UK. So for example: if you buy a watch duty free in an EU country while you are en route to a non EU country, you will owe import duty and VAT on return to the UK. |

Buy it in Denmark or another country with 25% sales tax after Brexit and make a saving.
