How close to the initial AD estimated wait was your watch delivered?

Hi all -

Recently stopped by my AD and inquired about a purchasing a new Explorer. The AD (predictably) said they didn't have any but could get me one in about 6-8 weeks "special order" because of my purchase history.

So I'm curious - how close was your watch delivered compared to the initial AD estimate? Just wondering if I can maybe get my hopes up for an early delivery or if I should expect to potentially be waiting longer than the estimate. Bonus points if you've purchased an Explorer recently and can share your experience!

My AD said a year to 18 months for a CHNR
Previous history I bought an Airking 9 months earlier.
He phoned me up a day later saying he had a CHNR...5 days after going in it was on my wrist..

This is of course rare from a Rolex AD
I thought I had won the lottery..I should have done to pay for it :-)

My AD has always come up with the goods much earlier than he promised , I think they just prepare you for the worst

My Blusey turned up earlier than predicted. I went on the list in May, was told early the following year, and actually got the watch at the beginning of November. They ordered me a TT Sky Dweller in January. That's going to take up to 12 months. Probably.

Got the BLNR last year for about 6 months wait but all my other purchases happened when I least expect it to be. Walked into the AD regularly just for a coffee or to chitchat, got offered a Hulk and a few PP

I never get times quoted. Just we'll call you when it comes in. Daytona: 18 months, BLNR: 6 weeks, Hulk they had so didn't have to wait

I too have never been quoted. My AD is great, though. Got 3 calls (2 for pieces I wanted) within 8 weeks, but nothing for the most desirable pieces.

It's doubtful that 116500, BLNR or BLRO are showing up with my name it anytime soon. The demand is just too high and one watch purchase isn't going to rocket me up that list IMO. Maybe, we'll see.

It depends if it's a Datejust as Rolex flood ADs with these and I was told it would be few short weeks if the AD doesn't have it in stock. If it's a SS sport good luck, I was still waiting for my SD43 for 2 years when one of my ADs lost Rolex status...

My AD said 2 years for a BLNR got it in 5 months,

my Sub C they said 18 months and got it in 6 months,

my Explorer 2 Polar took 4 days from asking for one to be in my hand.

my Tudor GMT 4 months from deposit,

Asked for a Daytona C and still waiting after 18 months, but have a feeling its "On its way".

Its all guess work but they usually give you the worst case so you will be pleased with an early delivery. I understand ADs really have no idea at this time what is coming in.

For Daytona I was told I would be receiving the first one they get. That turned into next one they get. Took about one year.

I was quoted 3-5 weeks for my smurf. It took just a touch over 4 weeks.

Going back 2 years , but, my ad told me they get new shipments on Thursday. I called one Thursday to see if they got a blnr in which they did and I balked. Two weeks later called again and they got another...didn’t balk the second time.

New customer to a London AD said six months for 114060. Got it in just under five months. Pleasantly surprised to say the least.

My AD has always delivered quicker than originally quoted at joining the list.

But I know them well enough to know that they don't control what comes in and the list I am on is a genuine list and customer wait their turn.
