AD+Grey saw first hand the strong relationship between the two
My local Grey dealer got in a Blue Skydweller, a Panda Daytona and two pearl masters lol. The cards are left blank until someone’s ready to pay the hefty premium then the AD adds it to the system.

So your post suggests that you may have seen said cards but you don’t specifically say you did. Did you personally see the warranty cards and the ADs name?
It’s hard to believe a post like this from someone with a really low post count that doesn’t include a whole lot of facts. Not trying to shoot your thread down, just more evidence is nice before you get the community here all worked up. |

Honestly, I would believe anything at this point with the current situation. Far too many resellers with their own websites have “new with stickers” Prof watches for sale along with a ton of 2-tone and SS DJ models. Plus why would a popular reseller hang his customer out to dry (aka w/o a warranty) after selling a watch for a ton over MSRP. The system is 100% rigged.
It's pathetic. Reminds me of tweet I saw recently directed toward Rolex asking about their behavior toward resellers and why ADs keep selling to them. Yeah, I know this is pure speculation without proof. However, I think some proof is the the fact resellers keep getting new stock. Plus going by known / proven history, extra money make people do crazy things to workaround checks and balances (Madoff, McDonalds' Monopoly, Enron, sports doping, Upper Deck secretly making more Griffey rookie years in 1992, Tickle Me Elmo, etc...). Some people are just greedy. It would be helpful if the OP discusses (as requested) what exactly happened. Last edited by jaisonline; 27 July 2019 at 12:29 AM.. Reason: Typo. |

Goes to show that the greys are the ADs best friend. Someone's got to unload those Pearlmasters!

A couple of months ago I bought a BNIB Rolex from one of the TS here. The watch arrived the next day, but the warranty card was not in the box. I inquired and was told, it will shipped with my name on it within a week. And it was. It had my name on it, the date of sale and AD stamp.
So, what OP said makes sense. Either the grey sellers get the warranty card with just the AD stamp without the date/name written on it or they sell the watch and then get the warranty card from the AD with pertinent info filled in. |

I was vague on purpose, I don’t want the grey or the AD to be even close to identified. And yes I personally saw the cards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No. Why protect the AD who knowingly sells to resellers and keep us all in this SS mess. These watches should be sold directly to customers at MSRP.

Your situation makes more sense and is most likely the way most of these deals are done. The only way your watch would have factory warranty is if the AD swipes the card through the Rolex interface device which looks like a big iPad. ADs are the only ones with that device. So the Grey gets the watch to sell, the AD keeps the card to swipe and sign your name on it and mails it to you after the watch is bought. As far as Rolex knows the AD sold the watch. Don’t see how Rolex will ever be able to stop this. Everyone is happy in the deal so who would be the rat? The only people unhappy are the forum members who can’t get a watch for msrp. Tough situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That’s interesting. Thanks for sharing. For a while I thought a grey dealer was just another customer that flips watches. Like so: they buy the watch, warranty clock starts, then they flip it. But this post makes me realize that a grey and an AD are basically partnering up almost! |

The authorized dealers’ shelves are empty. The gray market Internet sites are full of watches at absurd prices. Rolex MUST intervene and solve this issue which is clearly detrimental to the brand and worse yet to the consumer.
Cut a few of the suppliers to the secondary market and very soon the authorized dealers will have watches for the public at suggested retail prices. |

glad I got into the game when I did. Got my LN, Bluesy, and Deep Blue all from an AD on demand (well had to wait 2 weeks for the D-blue) without crazy prices. If I was looking now forget it.

I hear ya. All this new model SS 'shortage' did to me, was drive me toward 5 digit models. Unfort, those prices increased drastically because of what's going on today.

Intervene and cut suppliers? Sounds like the logical move but how in fact does Rolex do that? The way it’s being done is next to impossible to detect unless someone rats out the AD. Or Rolex green lights some major special ops team to monitor of few suspected major dealers and shuts them down in a noticeable way. But they have to be major players so everyone sits up and takes notice. Not sure Rolex can or even would want to that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If the warranty card already have someone else name on the card, then to me it is not brand new and perhaps can't be sold as brand new. When I bought my Migauss GV last year from a trusted grey seller here, the date of sale was May 5 (shipped overnight) and the date on the warranty card was May 22 (shipped after I received the watch). This has been in two or three Rolex BNIB unworn watches I have bought in 2018 and 2019. It is through the same TS if that matters... Now I am thinking of somehow figuring out if the warranty on these watches is active or not... Will RSC be able to confirm if I take the watches to them? don't want to find out that the warranty card somehow was not swiped... |
