A tool to safely change 16710 bezel?

Hey folks

I've seen some folks use a butter knife to change out the bezel on a 16710, but those tend to leave marks on the lugs.

What tools / methods do you guys use?

Thanks!

Rolex charges $70 for the insert plus labor.

I use this. I wrap it in electrical tape. And it does the trick well.

I goofed and didn’t answer the OP’s question.

As for your question, no. They will only replace the insert and bezel at their facilities.
I called several local AD’s and a Rolex RSC to check for my 14060M.

Doesn’t get any better than this. It WILL NOT scratch your watch and it is cheap to buy!

Good information. Any suggestion where to find a factory insert?

My 16710 came with a coke insert. My AD was kind enough to contact his watchmaker with a Rolex parts account and get me the all black and the pepsi insert for $70 or $80 per insert. I don’t remember exactly. But it was definitely not more than $80 per insert.

A plastic spudger, guitar plectrum or even an old credit card.

This +1000! It is the best tool for popping off the old bezel insert, but be careful not to loose the click spring!

OEM bezel inserts can be a bit of a quest. Your best bet is to try various ADs until one will source you one without confiscating your original.
