BLNR prices have come down slightly from that number shown. But still crazy.

Given that the price of gold in a Rolex accounts for about $5k, I don't see what the problem is.

Yes. Demand is higher for the one on the left.

Gold model depreciation vs hyped model SS doubling. Personally I like the gold one.

I'd definitely rather have the full gold at that point.

For the ones that can afford it(which there are lots now).. they buy what they want and like to have it when they want. 10k premium to bypass the wait

Yup, it’s like paying extra to be able to bypass the line at rides at Disney Land

Personally I think it is just hype over having the newest model. Also, if Rolex is only sending out the new watches in small lots then demand will always exceed supply.

Madness

It makes absolutely no sense but then again buying a watch which costs more than a hundred bucks makes absolutely no sense.

We all share a certain level of insanity but in my personal opinion those who pay 2X MSRP for something such as a watch are not only a little insane but incredibly foolish.

I personally don’t get it but people are free to do whatever they please with their money and if a Rolex is the only thing they want, then by all means ...

I’ll personally sit this one out with an Omega on my wrist. This too shall pass, and if it doesn’t, absolutely no regrets!

Just like the diamond supply is tightly controlled ... get a sapphire ring! Much less painful during a divorce.

Not foolish for someone who has a lot of money. 20k GMT might be equivalent to a middle class gentlemen putting out 1k for a watch. Plus if your gonna have the watch for the rest of your life it makes even more sense. I find putting out $800 for Thome brown sweat pants even more foolish but I still see these young kids buying them where I'm from.

I’m fortunate to have some nice watches but work daily to support my wife and children and wouldn’t not call myself monetarily wealthy. If I want a new piece it requires a deliberate savings period and usually sacrifice of another toy/upgrade/trip/house project. However, there are MANY who if they want the popular watch an extra 10k over retail only adds to the enticement as it’s negligible to their wealth.

This is a big part of it for me. I do my own oil changes and always buy the base model car and run it to 200k so I can wear the watch I want. Sacrifice + elbow grease = reminder on my wrist.

Wouldn’t mean as much to me if i got a swatch for 2x retail on eBay just because iwant it now. Buyers and sellers make the market. And if you can afford it, why not But getting the watch at retail is part of it for me.

I’m also not convinced people are actually paying $20,000 for the BLNR. I think many resellers are simply testing the market. For example, I haven’t seen anyone here who has actually paid that kind of cash. But I could be wrong.

Too bad WG prices aren't like YG. I'd be more tempted.

I think some people are paranoid about wearing a gold watch. It takes a certain mindset to wear that openly. Once that's sorted you're left with the others that will pay to bypass the line.
