All Rolex watches have gold hands?
I've read in a couple places that this is the case - and I just wanted to try and verify that here...I know that the indices on the Submariner, for instance, are white gold, but are the hands also white gold?

Thanks! Nice to have confirmation on this...
That's a pretty classy touch. I always used to wonder where the money went when you purchased a Rolex, but I'm quickly learning the answer to that question. White gold hands is a nice little touch of luxury on the ultimate dive watch! |

I don't really think it matters. Why not make the hands and indices out of steel then? I appreciate little touches like making the hands and indices out of white gold on a watch costing $6450.

Rolex did use to make their hands from steel... but it was a few decades ago..
During those transition years you could look at the bottom of the dial. Dials marked -T Swiss T- were steel hands and steel surrounds Dials marked oT Swiss To had gold indices and hands.

They probably got tired of seeing old watches with rusted hands. I'm surprised more companies don't use WG (or do they?), it's probably about $5-10 worth of gold in those little tiny hands.

White gold is also "whiter" than steel and provides more contrast.

Not at the white ExpII, there is the white gold so black that even the wasps don't want to see the bad paintwork.

OK, as usual, I'm confused, So, what you're saying is that even in my Z - series Daytona, my hands have some white gold in them? Not 100% Gold, but a tiny bit of white gold? Sorry for asking the question, I really do try and keep up around here!

I swear the white gold thing is on Rolex.com in one of those videos.
I heard the SS GMT ceramic bezel insert is bombarded with tiny shards of platinum. Not sure if that was on their site as well? |
