I destroyed my diversity

To go for my perfect watch.

I had a color diverse, decently brand diverse, and slightly function diverse collection:

Breitling: Superocean 2 42mm blue
Tudor: Pelagos blue
Omega: Speedy and seamaster pro blue
Rolex: SD4K, NDc, Hulk, Batman, Explorer 1, OP 39 white

But I love black divers the most, so had to figure out - do I continue the diversity trend or just keep going after the black divers I want to experience.

So I let go of my Breitling, tudor, both omegas and the OP 39 (so the only white, all the blue, the only chronograph, all non-rolex brands) to put the money towards: 16610 (2009 v-serial) and 16600 (2009 v-serial) - both excellent condition.

I did this because I've fallen in love with how the 5 digits sit on my wrist (tried to attach).

I already miss my speedmaster and OP 39 white, but I think it was the right call for me since if I really miss one or both of those I could probably add them back in later. Though part of me wonders if I should have included the ND sub instead of the white OP 39 and the speedy.

What do you guys think?

I have a decent amount of diversity in my collection. At one point, though, I was thinking of going the same direction as you with a focus on Subs and SDs. Not a bad collection to have.

The beauty of the 16610 is it is perhaps the most versatile watch you can own. More so than just about any other watch. Even more so than the current subC as is less blingy and has less wrist presence than the ceramic version. I do love my speedy, but that can be picked up at another point.

For me personally, having the 16610, 16600, 114060, and the 116600 is black bezel overkill. I think the 116600 alone would have covered all of the others.
With keeping black bezel diver theme in mind, I would instead have the 116600 and the 116618LN. This would compliment the remaining collection rather well.

Thanks guys for the support!

Nick I see your point - I think the SD4K and the ND subc might be a little close for my comfort. I always find myself going for the SD4K because it fits me better and seems more casual than the ND (not sure why, i think because the ND has the glossy black dial, and because lack of a date makes it seem more formal to me). So I'm not sure what I'm going to do here but will hold on for awhile to decide.

I can understand that. I've been wanting the TT bluesy for awhile but can't get comfortable with the bling factor yet. Maybe down the road.

In a way your collection still satisfies the DIVERSity criterion.
