Accuracy?

Just wondering if anyone wears their Rolex 24/7 (minus shower time - I can’t stand to wear a watch in the shower) if the accuracy is affected. I wear mine- minus shower time- all the time and it keeps gaining a second or so a day. I know it seems petty, and it’s within the COSC regulation, but does anyone have the same results?

I wear my watches all day except for in the shower (soap grime build up).
If your watch is gaining a second a day then it's fine, in fact its pretty bloody good.
Are you not happy with that?

Mine loses approximately 3.6 per day. May have something to do with the shower though as I don’t take it off often.

1+ is inside Rolex’s most recent standard and represents outstanding accuracy for a mechanical timepiece. I have two Rolexes in my collection worn during work hours and stored dial up in a watch box at night and neither equals what the OP’s watch gets. Not that it bothers me, both are performing within COSC standards. Higher accuracy then that, consistently, would necessitate an HAQ or a Grand Seiko Spring Drive.

You are very lucky to have accuracy that good, +1 SPD is outstanding, considering there are 86,400 secs in a day yours is 0.99998842592592592592592592592592592592 % accurate so enjoy

I always wear mine in the shower to give it a nice warm soapy clean and rinse off. Comes out gleaming and also I’m not sure what wearing it in a shower would do for the accuracy of your watch?

1 second a day is phenomenal for a mechanical watch.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a sports band for a 34mm OP green? I’m looking for like a khaki or green rubber band.

Which shower?

I wear my GMT 16710 24/7 except the shower and only because it’s on a nylon strap. I wore a Sub 168000 for 30 years 24/7 running, swimming and in the shower and it stayed within COSC. The GMT is more accurate being worn all the time,I tried taking it off at night to have it lose a bit and it didn’t seem to matter so now I wear it to bed and it has settled in at just under +1 sec a day

That's normal. Mine varies according to what it should be +/- 2 seconds per day. Sometimes I find it's behind. At other times it's ahead. I'm guessing there are a number of factors that contribute to this. But I wear mine just about all the time. Don't shower or sleep with it. Other than those two exceptions and occasionally wearing one of my other watches. It's on my wrist.

Because the OP isn’t a sports watch you will find fewer 19mm rubber sports bands in that color. RubberB makes black, white and blue. Everest doesn’t go below 20mm and not for the 34mm case radius for their curved rubber straps.

Have you tried the Zulu nylon options?
There are far lot options among the makers in both 19mm and 18mm.

Don't wear your watch in the shower. Depending how hot the water is you can cause issues with oil vaporization over a prolonged period, to my understanding. Water has a much higher energy capacity than air so the same hot temperature of water relative to say hot air outside can transfer thermal energy much faster.

+/- 2 seconds a day is solid for a mechanical watch. If you want more accurate use your phone and google the official NIST time.

Mine gains on avg +2.5 SPD so by weeks end it’s approx 18-20 secs fast and how I fix it is pick a new watch to wear for the upcoming week

Imho what matters is consistancy. Gain or lose the same daily. Regulation accuracy brings you to that second a day (excellent btw). Have one that is +2, another that is +1...

...and my champion SS SkyD blue is +7 seconds... a month(!).
